Bring back that Desert Island Discs style piece you used to have at the end of the longer interviews!

Thanks!

you know, as I only used to get RG irregularly I didn't realise this had gone - but yes I agree - it was a really nice page. (Unless the BBC sued).

Yeah, exactly.... I used to love reading what those great coders would choose for their list of games they couldn't do without...

It's not gone, it's just not been used for a couple of issues. In fact, Desert Island Disks is back in issue 96.

No, Desert Island Disks hasn't gone anywhere... it's just there are so many more contributors to the magazine nowadays that i can only usually get enough pages for a piece every 3 or 4 issues (Daz and Stu are dead supportive and pretty much let me pick my castaways but they have to get the balance of features right in each issue). So yup, there's one in next issue and then there's a gap until RG102, though it is Julian Rignall so that should be fun.

Ta for the interest

^ Jaz rignall's Desert Island games - that will be very interesting. I'm going to start a betting pool on the number of c64 games featured - who'll give me odds on 5?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, love this page when it's actually there :) Julian Rignall, blimey.... will be looking forward to that. Has he ever been in the magazine before?

BK2K (ok, not a videogame)
Defender
Dropzone?

I'm betting on less than 5 btw.

Issue 96 is David Leitch - handled some 'interesting' Speccy and Megadrive conversions. He was in Nottingham for a brithday party so i got to meet him in the pub which always makes for a good interview... there was a question thread up for him in this forum.

As for Rignall, i don't think he's been in RG before... and I'd actually put money on 2 or 3 arcade games in his 8 - shooters i reckon. Northway, Defender is a banker ;]Then a couple of 16 bit ones, and something modern... so I'd take up odds on less than 5 C64 games! But we'll see...

from rignall's twitter, wouldn't be surprise to see at least one IOS game in there too.

The inspiration for Desert Island Games turns 70 today. I don't see it in the current issue (98)'s "In the chair with....," though.
