For pure pick-up-and-play fun, Jetpac. A true classic.

I think Lunar Jetman is just brilliant ,of all the ultimate games , this is the one i play the most , i love everything about it , including the difficulty level.

Can only be Jetpac. Simple and great fun, and never unfair. Lunar I think is over-rated (going by the Crash rating), trundling around looking for a trailer that doesn't exist is really rather yawnsome (yes, I know there is a bit more to it but, still...). And Solar doesn't count as it isn't on the Spectrum!

The original is the better game in my eyes but it is Jetpac Refuelled that is the finest of the series.

How can looking for a trailer be yawnsome when its nothing but a load of baloney , and saying yes there is more to it but, still.... - still what ?? You don't trundle around looking for a trailer , thats way off the mark. See below .

The game revolves around getting the lunar rover along with the bomb (on the rover ) to the alien base to destroy it , or you can treat it purely as a shoot em up and waiting for the rocket to set off and taking it down before it hits the rover and ends the game , smoke and mirrors .

As other folk have said, the simpleness of Jetpac makes it the winner for me! It's totally a game you can get to grips with instantly, but it still offers a pretty good challenge!

I loved Jetpac Refuelled on the 360 too!

Solar is brilliant, one of the few NES games I regularly return to.

Lunar Jetman... it's way too hard, and at times simply unfair, but I love it.
The fact you can customize the Lunar Rover with a gun, bomb or teleport was brilliant to my 11 year old mind.

Still play it today occasionally, and I'm still rubbish at it.

Its got to be Jetpac for me.
Its one of the first games I ever played so its quite special, along with Manic Minor and Ant Attack.

Really, I just liked the farting sound of the baddies when they hit something :D
