Game Boy Micro for me... original GBA had awful screen, GBA SP was difficult for my big hands to hold... wheras in Goldilocks terms the Micro was just right.

Micro, for THAT quality screen. Was given a GBA for free by friend of mine, short of taking it to next late night footy match and playing under a spotlight, it'll never be used.Wretched screen, as bad as original GB in my opinion.

Micro for me as well. Great screen, lovely weight and finish. The NES edition is one of my favorite machines.

Errr, you missed out the AGS 101, THE best GBA. The design of the SP with the screen of the Micro.

Re: Hot Topic - Best GBA
I have a GBA (bought on Japanese import before it was officially released here) and a GB micro. I've played on a GBA SP briefly too.
GBA:
+ Comfortable to hold
- Memories of its godawful dark screen where I needed to be right near a light source to see things clearly
GB micro:
+ Portability, lovely bright high contrast screen
- No GB/GBC backwards compatibility, makes my hands ache when played over long periods, sometimes difficult to read text due to small screen
GBA SP:
+ Portability, clamshell design helps keep screen scratch-fee
- My hands ached using it after a while, many units come with the darker lower contrast screen
Overall... my vote went to the GBA SP.
However, I most prefer playing my GBA games on my DS Lite.

Ive never seen the micro. but out of the other 2 the SP is better imo. Very poor screen though, difficult to use outdoors. I use the DS instead nowadays.

The GBA SP, great workhorse handheld from Nintendo.
Re: Hot Topic - Best GBA
Has to be the GBA SP as I was given the gold Zelda one with The Minnish Cap as a Christmas present. Love that little handheld.
Re: Hot Topic - Best GBA
Like many have said, GBA SP AGS-101. The best of both worlds (backlit + backwards compatibility).
Re: Hot Topic - Best GBA
SP for me too. I remember trading my GBC and about 20 boxed games for the original Advance on release day, only to be quite disappointed with the dark screen.
The SP addressed all the back-lighting issues beautifully.

Thoughts and prayers.
Re: Hot Topic - Best GBA
I've voted for the Micro, purely because of the quality of the screen and the fact that it's the most comfortable to use. It is a shame GB/GBC compatability was removed though
