i've downloaded four from steam:the dig, loom, indiana jones atlantis and last crusade.out of those i couldn't get on with loom, have barely made any progress with the dig but i have finished the two indiana jones games with help from the net.of the two i preferred fate of atlantis so that's my vote.

from what i have heard of beneath a steel sky,day of the tentacle and monkey island games i suspect if i had played any of those my vote would be different.grimm fandango also looks good,is that scumm?

The Secret Of Monkey Island without a doubt, has a fantastic atmosphere and a SCUMM bar.

I normally hate point and click types, but Day of the Tentacle was genius and hilarious in equal measures.

Day of the Tentacle for me... it was the first CD-ROM game I bought for my new 386 in the early 90's... it was already old and on Virgin White Label by then but I loved every minute of it.

Full Throttle. If I was to recommend a ScummVM game to someone who had never played one, it would be Full Throttle. The game itself is awesome, with music and voice acting that is just incredible, but the great thing is that it can be easily finished in a few hours. It never made me confused or angry, so it is my favourite ScummVM game

Monkey Island II, no contest. The puzzles were tougher, the music was better, the graphics were more awesome and the humour was more piratey. Which is no bad thing. Plus, it had that weird as underpants ending as well.

Monkey Island 2. My first point & click game, and it got me hooked on the genre.

Anyway, enough off topic. Only game I know really is Day of The Tentacle, so I'll go for that.

Wow, this is almost impossible to answer because I love them all. But "The Secret of Monkey Island" really took my heart away back in 1990. Pure gaming magic!

Broken Sword ticks all the right boxes, with great voice acting, superb animation and an intriguing plot. A true classic of its genre that appeals beyond the usual point n click fanbase to reach wider commercial success with several ports and the distinction of being one of the few games completed by Mrs Ant.

For me, it has to be The Secret of Monkey Island as it has the best combat system ever. Special moves? Bah! Insults are what you need! :D

It is a tough one, but Monkey Island 2 raised the bar for me
