oh, got a couple:

Assault Suit Valken/Cybernator (semi-follow up the Assault Suit Leynos)

Battle Mobile (or to give it, its full name: Gekitotsu Dangan Jidousha Kessen:Battle Mobile) How road avenger would be when turned into an up the screen car blaster, near identical story in the intro in amazing SNES-O-VISION!! And a cracking little gem imo.

Megaman X. Blew me away despite never liking the NES games. Never got to play the sequels, but always wanted to.

Super Mario World for me too. Still remember the first time I saw it at a friends house, I thought gaming couldn't possibly ever get any better than that!

That's a nasty question. There's always the triple A titles to mention, but i'm going for The Lost Vikings. Fabulous gameplay, superb level design and just wanting to see what came next, meant this was the first (of only a few) SNES games i ever completed. Unmissable!

Chrono Trigger, closely followed by Zelda LTTP.

Umihara Kawase, under loved and criminally unknown SFC import only title. A magical little platform game that has easily stood the test of time.

Backed into a corner. I'd have to say Contra Spirits. By about 0.00001%

Seriously, theres just too many superb games to have only 1 favourite.

Super Mario Kart consumed hours of my life, so I have to say that. The playability is amazing and I just couldn't leave it alone through the whole time I actively played on the SNES. And it was a game family members also enjoyed, clustered around the TV hurtling red shells at each other.

Honourable mentions got to Contra, which I loved reading about in your recent piece and Zombies Ate My Neighbours, which had fantastic 50s retro themeing and was an amazing play too - even if I was rubbish at it.

Knights of the Round is my favourite SNES game by a mile. It's the closest to the seminal Golden Axe that SNES owners got, back in the day.

Star Wing. The whole cinematic feel and the non-stop action just makes it such a joy to play. I love everything about it, except maybe that damn frog!

Chrono Trigger. I remember I had never even looked at an RPG before, it was a friday evening, just after dinner and I was home alone. Loaded it, and when I looked at the clock again it was 1 o'clock. I truly was hooked, and the world of RPGs opened to me. A masterpiece.

Great question. There were many great games, but top on my list would have to be Star Fox (aka Star Wing). The "stage select" kept replay value high and I always felt drawn into the action to the point that I was physically dodging incoming laser fire with my body! It's criminal that Star Fox 2 was never released, at least not for the SNES itself.

Pilot Wings. It was one of the main reasons I bought a SNES and so different to other games out at the time. I still have a go on this at events, and it is still fun to play even though the attack helicopter mission is stupidly difficult.
