Issue 100.

Post by FatTrucker » Mon May 23, 2011 4:36 pm

Well, we're only 10 issues away. Just wondered what sort of things people would like to see RG do to acknowledge, commemorate and otherwise big up what is a massively significant milestone for a mag in todays market.

For myself, I hated what GamesTM did with the 100 different covers, absolute sh*te if you treat your mags as a 'collection'.
I would love to see RG put out a poster book featuring all 100 previous covers.

What Games TM did was brilliant, would love to see RG do something similar, even if it does annoy a few obsessive (mentally ill?) collectors.

Why not let the Forum members write all the articles for the 100th issue, for those people who say, why don't you ever cover this, blah, blah, blah....well now it is your chance!

I'd love to see some kind of Top 100 list really. Not a simple top 100 games though, something special/quirky. Like, Top 100 games featuring parrots or something

Include a load of cool, collectible tat. Like mags did in the good old days. ;)

A whole issue of purely reader requested content? Can't see it really working but it's worth a try!

Or how about "The Making of Retro Gamer"?
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Presumably because the magazine would like a 101st issue. Retro Gamer isn't a fanzine. (Note: anyone here who is actually a writer/journo and has ideas, of course pitch them to Darran, but the thought of random forumites writing an entire mag makes the pro in me shudder.)
