I never played Boulder Dash, but played all the Repton games for the Electron back in the day.
No. Boulder Dash and Repton both derive from "THE PIT', an arcade game by Centuri.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pit_%28arcade_game%29

.

But you're right that Repton is better! More cerebral, and requires more cunning to beat it. :)

3D Starstrike on the cpc. Much better than the official Star Wars converison. Defend Or Die is a great Defender clone on the cpc too.

Killer Gorilla on the CPC for me. A direct copy of Donkey Kong but visually looking more like Chuckie Egg. A shame that Jumpman is replaced by Nicholas Witchell with rickets, though.
Still the Galaxy's Greatest Comic!

Preppie! for the Atari 8-bit which was a great little Frogger clone. Less said about the music the better though...

Nothing. Sadly due to this modern day and age, I was never treated to the wonders of that arcade way of life. (Unless you count Crisis Zone in bowling alleys.)

It's too bad there weren't any Final Fight clones, those might have been good.

I got a lot of play time out of Victory Run for TurboGrafx/PCE. Good Outrun clone.

Has to be 'Who Dares Wins' the 'Commando' clone for the Commodore 64, at the time we had the 'Commando' board playing in the arcade cab in the pub that parents ran and then in my room I had the 'other' version.........on the Commando 64 :D
