"Minority Report" - Games on less mainstream platforms

Post by mikeb » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:16 pm

Regarding the possible feature on games for less well-covered systems in tha mag, does anyone have any titles they'd like to see mentioned? Preferably ones that were just released for that one system if possible (although there may be scope to expand the feature to other less well-known or cult games for the more popular systems.)

Both Winter Events and Summer Events from Udo Gertz on the C16 would be nice.

Smurfs 2 on the Master System. I've always been curious about it, though getting a copy'd likely be murder.

I'd like to see a piece on games on PDA. They've been all but forgotten along with mobile phone gaming prior to the iphone.

if I had to go with any particular title it would be the excellent (and free) Space Trader on PalmOS. It's a surprisingly solid and enjoyable game, a sort of turn-based Elite clone with missions to complete.

Batman & Robin on the game.com - if you can get used to the constant motion blur, there's a lot to enjoy in this game. Scrolling fighting action, exploration (finding all the hidden diamonds in the game), a Crazy Climber-esque level, a quasi-lightgun section (using the stylus to attack enemies), some one-on-one fighting sections... It's a lot of fun, really!
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

There are a few slight adjustments at the moment.
It now covers great games on obscure systems and a couple of obscure games on more popular systems. We'll keep tinkering with it and see how they fit in.

So basically, games for systems known to a minority + games known to a minority for popular systems.

The two would likely be a very good fit and I'm definetely not going to complain about more obscure games coverage in the mag. :D
