Some ideas for the mag
Hi
love the mag
some ideas/ games id love to see covered
All released on the Spectrum
1. Bounder
2. Turmoil
3. Nodes of Yesod (actually youve more or less covered this one)
4. Stonkers (the real first C + C game)
How about an interview with Chris Hulsbeck a severely talented and underrated C64
and Amiga musician?
The man behind the awesome Aphidya music
Oh and you could cover that game while you're at it.

Re: Some ideas for the mag
I wrote a Bounder making-of yonks back—it was in issue 58. That's a C64 original, though, not a Speccy one. As for Nodes, the guy who wrote it's up for being interviewed, but the guys didn't seem particularly interested when I mentioned this.insert10p wrote:1. Bounder

He was interviewed as part of The SID Crowd in issue 71, but I don't recall a standalone interview of any size with him in the mag.How about an interview with Chris Hulsbeck a severely talented and underrated C64

Mention it again, I reckon it would make for a good article. That's at least 2 readers up for it.CraigGrannell wrote: As for Nodes, the guy who wrote it's up for being interviewed, but the guys didn't seem particularly interested when I mentioned this.

get the guys from Zzap to do one edition... and they give their scores, their opinions on games they reviewed and if those opinions still stand, maybe get some guys from Crash as well, just have one great big party and I think it would go down a charm and when is it going to happen.
Re: Some ideas for the mag
Actually I would really love to see a special -- even a bookazine -- on arcade games. Why hasn't there been anything of the sort available already (or is there some compilation or otherwise I have missed out on); the arcade world I think is something huge that has never properly been documented and to me that is just mind-boggling. So many games, so many classic arcade games that need to be discussed. Especially my favourites, like Virtual Striker 2, Winning Run, Rastan Saga, Strider, Galaga, Indiana Jones (pinball machine), Powerdrift, Final Lap R, Wonderboy, House of The Dead..
I would take this book and after reading it, put it under my pillow and go to sleep and then my dreams would be so fulfilling and awesome and then I would wake up again and start reading it and life would be perfect.

Yep would love something like this. There is a chunk of arcade stuff in Retro Gamer but i'm surprised theres not more, specially when surely 99% of us used to play on the classic arcades in our youth. Would much rather have this than some feature on some romanian computer which only sold 3 unitsncf1 wrote:Actually I would really love to see a special -- even a bookazine -- on arcade games. Re: Some ideas for the mag
I've long said they should compile the making-ofs for the top arcade games into a special, to make some kind of definitive overview of the best arcade games. In those rare cases where we can't get an interview (like with Missile Command), shove in an alternative article type instead.

And this is why RG is my favourite magazine of all time. I've never known a magazine so responsive to reader feedback in my life.

I would be waiting at the door of the newsagent in a tent the night before the release day if you guys at RetroGamer created an Arcade Gaming Compendium covering the greats through the years.psj3809 wrote:Yep would love something like this. Arcade is the best platform ever because every home machine "Try's" to emulate it
Go on, give us what we want - Computer Space & Pong to After Burner Climax & Super SFIV and all the fuzzy, warm, gooey retro goodness in-between

From Game&Watch to PS2 and Arcade in between, its been so much fun every single step of the way.
