For those looking to get a specific cover, there are still over 90 of the covers to choose from on the Games TM site.

Just seen about 8 or 10 covers in WHS and hated them all. Will keep looking around. If I was an SF2 fan though I would be well gutted at the mess they have made of that.

I had the Beyond Good & Evil cover. Great game, but would have preferred the FFVII cover :P

In our smiths they had the following covers
F Zero
Parappa
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy
And some other one with a Triangle and black cover

I'm tempted to buy it, as it actually seems to be getting a fair bit better, rather than trying to be edge light

Went to that WHSmith's in the Arndale on the way home from Eurocon and got that Cannon Fodder one, happy enough with that. Vib Ribbon would've been nice, but Cannon Fodder's great.

As for the actual magazine? It's changed a LOT since I last bought it. The ten-year lookback thing was nice - although the timeline starting with the game.com was a bit odd (the game.com being released in 1997). But that Top 100 Games thing? Not even numbered so no room for debate, and some of the most pretentious, soul-less writing I've ever encountered in a magazine. Utter rubbish, but the cover's nice.

Yeah, think I'll be sticking with RG, thanks.

I agree with this, actually thought there was a tad too much back-slapping in the magazine. At the expense of all the regular articles I actually quite enjoy. 100 Top Games did read a bit like some amateur website listing its favourite games, with some pretty poor writing at times. Also the retro-section - despite the Atari article being excellent - had pretty much nothing else, apart from pages and pages and pages on Burnout, which I personally don't even think of as retro.

Ah well... roll on the (hopefully) less self congratulatory Games TM issue 101.

Sorry I forgot the Famicom article in Retro... was quite good... still missed all the little Retro Sections though, and even more keenly so in the magazine, where nearly all the regular features had gone.
