Don't like the star at all.

The star was an asterisk which referred to a line of text at the bottom of the cover of issue one, which said "Retro Gamer is the UK's first regular retro magazine."

So now you know
Cool. The thing to do then is actually have something that the asterisk refers to on the front cover of each issue. Or hide whatever the asterisk refers to somewhere in the mag each issue and run it as a competition.

Also, jimster is right about the Rodent thing. Very similair. :)

I didn't look for a competition at all. Look at the exchange of posts again.
I looked at a couple of issues to see if the asterisk actually meant anything though because I've never bothered with the asterisk in the past.
