Forum Opinion Question (For Issue 78)

Post by Duddyroar » Fri May 28, 2010 5:22 pm

With a new downloadable Sonic title on its way and a fresh instalment incoming for the Wii and DS in the form of Sonic Colors, we thought it would be the ideal time to determine which mascot has the most clout. Answer anyway!

I'm not really bothered about any of those. I'd rather have Miner Willy, Superfrog, Zool, Robocod, Sackboy, Lara Croft, Solid Snake, or many more.

Good old Mario makes tashes, beer-bellies and dodgy mushrooms not just acceptable, but cool. How could it be anyone else?

In terms of recognition, Pikachu is probably almost as easy to pick out as Mario... but the plumber (who does very little plumbing) is without doubt the strongest gaming mascot of all time.

Of course, there are hundreds of mascots who could have belonged on this poll, but... no Pac Man?

Meh. I'd have voted for Sonic even if you'd put me on it.

I think we moved away from consoles needing a mascot after the SNES and MD. To answer the question you have to go with Mario, but that's more about Nintendo whoring him out more than anything.

I voted for Crash, purely because he's a cool character with fun games. Also because he's one of the Playstation characters that defined that console without being a mascot as such (along with Spyro) which is pretty special.

Crash as a wasted opportunity. I think Sony could have done more to make Spyro a mascot though. I do like Sonic as a mascot, just not most of his games.

I honestly can't see why Mario is seen as a good mascot.

At least the first few Crash games were fun and he was a decent character so will go with that.

Where is DIZZY? hehe

Agree Crash Bandicoot was a good character and a wasted opportunity really, but then I think the mascot era had ended by Playstation..

Im sick of Nintendo characters like Mario & Zelda as they are getting tiresome

Sonic is the SH*TTEST character in gaming.. the sonic games actually make me feel sick just looking at them... an awful try-to-hard 90's 'cool' character that is completely unappealing and rubbish in every way..

Yes I know Mario is just a fat dude in overalls, but sonic just reeks of a bunch of marketing guys sitting around trying to think of something 'cool' they can make toys of

SONIC is the Ja Ja Binks of Video Games..

Whoever put Crash Bandicoot in that list must have been on drugs.......and if not then they should be.
