Hi,

tried it out on the iPad. The overall functionality is ok, but some of the smaller fonts are barely readable due to Lots of Fragments. Will the quality of the file (are they pdfs?) Be improved ? With a qualitiy like the Wired Magazine App Retro Gamer on iPad would Be awesome.

Obviously I'm aware this is really an app that will shine one ipad and that shrinking a magazine page to iphone screen is problematic - so I have made allowances - but on balace I really was a bit disappointed.

Specifically - the found the controls fiddly and also that they often did unexpected things. My phone and firmware are up to date, so can only assume its the app.
Yeah it's borderline criminal it doesn't work like Safari with the pinch zoom and the zoom to column.

This could be an interesting way to read Retro Gamer, once the technology matures a little.

An indication of how utterly slapdash and pathetically programmed this application is.

When you type the wrong password you get this message exactly as presented.

"Oop's Log in failed"

The idea is good but you've given it to barely trained monkeys. If it followed even the first interface guideline for the device it could be excellent but it's still in the condition where you have to double tap to zoom in before it'll allow you to pinch, it still can't automatically zoom to the size of a column, the rotation is slow and unreliable and I've had pages get "stuck" in the top right and turning them makes it turn back to the same page you were on anyway.

And that's in 5 minutes testing to see if it had improved.

12 version in it's in a state where I, as someone who works in this industry, would not have allowed it to go anywhere NEAR out the door.

I got an ipad and installed the retro gamer app.
But the app crashes every time after the splash screen :-(

Does anybody else have this problem? I would very much like to read retrtgamer issues on this great device...

I stopped Retro Gamer app on iPad crashing by turning off wifi. Not a solution, but it's something.

Well, that "works" here, too.
But then I get my empty library and there is no possibility of buying issues.

Have you tried buying issues on 3G with wifi off? I don't have 3G model.

My library is empty too, because I reinstalled app to try to fix problem. I don't want to go back to paper because issues are $13 in Australia and 3 months behind.

I think we should both write to PixelMags and let them know of the issue. There is a way of generating an email to them in the app. Sending email wont work but it should put the email in the outbox for you to resend outside the app.

Edit: Mention in email to them that turning off wifi stops the crashing. It might help their techies fix the problem.

Can't you redownload issues you've already paid for? If not, that's criminal with an iOS app, since they nuke content and settings when deleted/reinstalled.

Well, on my Ipad with WiFi turned on, the app crashes.
With WiFi turned off, the program looks like this: http://yfrog.com/n6dvwbj
So I cannot download or redownload any issue.

For me this does not seem to be an Apple problem.
