Full Of Eastern Promise

Post by lexiomiguel » Thu Nov 05, 2009 3:05 am

I've just started to delve into importing with my Saturn and was reading through my Retro Gamer Collection Issue Volume 2 and realized just how cooled this feature is.From searching through previous posts concerning the feature,I gather that it wasn't that popular?I don't know but I still think it's a great feature and adds great depth to the magazine.I think it provides much needed info for those who, like me,are looking to the East so I don't really see why it wouldn't be popular. :? You'll definitely always have a section of the reader base that's interested.

Oh and the Cheap As Chips feature is great too, guys!Keep that one in there for sure! :D

Couldn't agree more, it was a feature I enjoyed.

Guys,

The feature still exists in the magazine, it's just under a new name - Import Only.

Was there one in last months? Can't remember if there was or not. yeah I like the mag covering import games as I personally find it more interesting than the more familiar games games in the mag. I'm probably in the minority though as more rg readers seem to gravitate towards western games.

Actually the last one we ran was quite a few issues back, which is probably why you guys never twigged (load 66 with the Spyhunter cover - we covered Yu Yu Hakusho).

There isn't one inside the next issue (70) or planned for 71, but we'll see about putting one in the issue after that.

I was introduced to Umihara Kawase on the SFC thanks to this section of the mag. I personally think it's good enough to feature every month. Just my opinion :)

@Stuart: Please take it in again :D I really enjoy it and can only agree with Dizrythmia that it'd be good enough to be in there every month :)

I'm surprised more people haven't indicated they liked the feature tbh. It was my favourite regular. Guess everyone wants to play the same old games :?

We do like to mix up the content each month, therefore it’s unlikely that we'd run an Import Only every issue, but we will try to get it appearing more than it has been. There's actually one planned for issue 72, along with the long-awaited return of another feature.

Retro Shamer? :D

I like the occasional look at the Import Only games but agree that features like that shouldn't be in every issue as they're not for everyone...

But if you were making a magazine that was for everyone, you'd look at EVERYTHING in it, and decide that maybe a few people don't like that section, so the only way to make everyone happy would be to print a blank magazine... Silly stuff, just another way of saying that yes, it SHOULD be there every week.

That, or a ten-part History of Wii Sports.
