Has to be The Sentinel.

Remember vividly going into Boots in Cambridge to buy it, reading the manual in the car on the way home and then loading it up for the first time... Fantastic. 10,000 3D landscapes packed into an 8-bit computer. Tense strategic gameplay. And the satisfaction of earning those passcodes to higher levels.

F1GP for me
I loved that on the Amiga

I used to waste hours playing on F1GP as a kid.

Has to be Revs, remember playing this on my secondary schools BBC's when I should have been studying for my Computer Science O level.
It moved the goalposts so far for other racing games of the time, that they took years to catch up... and that was with Crammonds own F1GP.

I remember the absolute joy of having to actually start your own engine in the game... sheer class

Stunt Car Racer is fantastic, but F1GP blew me away.

I would have said Grand Prix 2, still one of my Top 5 racers ever. Of the ones listed, I obviously have to go with F1GP then. Absolutely amazing game that still delivers today :)

F1GP. What Geoff managed to squeeze out of a lowly 520STFM was beyond me. Bloody marvelous game and i`m not even a fan of racers. This however just an amazing experience.

I almost voted for SCR which I played lots on the Amiga, but F1GP on the Amiga was amazing, and I played that for a long time. It even had that strange time share thing so me and my Brother could race in the same race and the computer took over while the other person played.

All his games have had a fair bit of play from me, but for sheer originality The Sentinel is hard to beat. There are countless F1 games, even a few stunt car games, but I'm hard pushed to come up with a Sentinel-a-like. Still worth playing too, though I'd like to get hold of the PS1 version.

Has to be The Sentinel for me too. Great to play and with an amazing and eerie atmosphere.

F1GP for me. I'd watch the race on TV then go up stairs and play the same FULL race on my Amiga! Utterly fantastic.

Revs for me. So far ahead of its time it was almost ridiculous.

I was absolutely useless at it though.

Sentinal for me. Like Chess but with amazing atmosphere, it's a game that once learnt gets utterly absorbing (Scuse the pun).
Loved Stunt Car Racer, but The Sentinal is one of those rare games you never forget that is unsurpassed in it's genre. Is there a comparable game in the genre...?

F1 GP on Amiga, a big step forward in race simulators at the time not only in graphics terms but more importantly in physics and attention to detail.
