Ha. I was going to say the same. Frostbite rocks as does Outrun Online Arcade.

Quick feedback as its only just arived.

Fooking love the cover.
The re-designed bits are really nice.
Lots & lots of 8-bit coverage - yay!
Cheers for asking John Twiddy my question first and am very happy with the answer!

Oh, and Iain Lee? That was unexpected but cool - any chance of Daisy Donovan writing a feature or two?

This looks as though it's going to be my favourite issue for a fair while. It may be my imagination, but the content does seem more purely old-school than it has done for a while. Demon's Crest is fantastic, though it's a shame Stuart didn't have the room to mention the wonderfully atmospheric music. Stuart's Tetris article is food for thought - I notice the 'puzzle game' issue mentioned elsewhere in this forum has been raised, although presumably he wrote the article quite a while ago. Also like the Iain Lee column, the Mega Man Pixel Perfect, Beyond article, and am looking forward to reading the Qwak and Shinobi articles. Nice to see a decent C64 game in the homebrew section too - Escape from Arth is definitely on my shopping list.

Got mine this morning, love the 3d popup of the Last Ninja on the front cover with the lever to make the ninja kick back and forth, great idea.

Really like the new features, enjoyed the page by Iain Lee, good to get him on board. Nice writeup on Byte Back, interesting about the original Dandy as i just knew that game from the Speccy version. Lots of good stuff in it, just had a thumb through and looks like a great issue.

Looking forward to the June issue, seems like theres lots of surprises there.

Got mine this morning too. I like the redesigned front end, but the browny colour is a bit bland, if thats changed monthly, no problem! I love the front cover.

Haven't had chance to read it yet but i have a feeling i'm going to LOVE the making of.......QWAK!!!!! :D 8) Also looking forward to reading about the Virtual Boy and Shinobi too, as i know very little about either.

havent opened the plastic wrapper yet - but it seems much heavier than usual - will try and find out why when I have a first look tonight.

(was suprised to get it so early - but in a 'found a tenner behind the sofa' way :D )

O-M-G! You've done it! You guys have created the ultimate issue of Reto Gamer :) The new design is fab and the features really do make it a top-notch magazine.

Well done to one and all.

Just arrived...

At first glance it looks quite good and lots of 8 bit stuff, which is my personal interest - it does look a bit ninja content heavy for my liking (not a fan of Last Ninja or Shinobi, but loads are I know... personal preferences and all that).

Sort of like the new look, although sometimes the pages get a bit busy with pie charts, staff writer pop up boxes etc...

Really looking forward to reading Virtual Boy, Beyond, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Tetris articles, also Dandy looks good too...

Still not keen on Mobile section, and I'm not a fan of Iain Lee - he always strikes me as one of those people who's not as funny as he clearly thinks he is! Still I wait to be pleasantly surprised.

Is that because there's a lot of C64 coverage by any chance ;)

Not at all. To be honest, I didn't notice that. No - it's the fact that it looks great, feels great, reads great and it IS great. A perfect mixture of review, previews, features and other bits N bobs. It really is a top-notch issue.

Just give me that fiver the next time we meet ;)

...thinking about it... the only downside to it is that you are still showing my web site as having over 260 game endings, when it is almost 400!

Is this a joke? Mine doesn't seem to have anything like that? :?

On first glance it looks like a good issue. Only read the Byte Back write-up thus far (predictably!) which was really pleasing - many thanks to Andrew and everyone that contributed to it! :)

The most significant thing I've noticed from a critical point of view is that QWAK was spelt wrong on the front cover - EPIC FAIL!

Recall the all, get them reprinted ;)

Looks good from the flick through I have done. Nice Byte Back write up. Great idea to give Iain Lee a regular column (but still hoping you bring Archer back one day)

One thing though - I think you need to work on which quotes you use from the forum. On Old vs New Spooky's 'its great' quote is a bit of a lame choice!

Unless you're Spooky.
