Hi guys :)
Here's your question for the month.
What's the best Metroid game you've played?

The best Metroid game I've played is Super Metroid on the SNES
Absolutely loved it the moment I set eyes on it :D

I haven't played any
I always wated to try the Wii one, but as Nintendo 1st party stuff holds its price so well I have never found it cheap enough to take the risk.

Unless we all just copy and paste woody.cool's quote, a better question would be 'what's everyone's favourite Metroid game after Super Metroid?', to which I would answer 'Metroid: Zero Mission on GBA'. It's the perfect introduction to the series, but Super Metroid is godlike.

This is actually a very hard question for metroid fans like me. I'll never forget the first time I played Super Metroid and drooled over the amazing graphics, incredible music and profound improvement over the first couple missions of the hottest bounty hunter in the whole galaxy. However I can say that this religious experience was Cubed when I first played Metroid Prime. So I'd say Metroid Prime is, along Mario 64 and other old Nintendo mascots, the most enjoyable transition from 2D gameplaty to 3D.

Got the two Gamecube 3D efforts, nice and all that, but not my thing really.

Also got Zero Mission on the GBA, still sealed...

Have played several Super games with Met(eo)roids in them, and games with the word Super in them, but as for Super Metroid [sic?]... errr, nope.

I've had much more fun with Metroid Prime Pinball, thats a cracking little game, so that gets my vote!!

I like Metroid: Zero Mission most. It was actually the first one I played through to completion, and it feels well balanced in terms of exploration and shooting. I think it is the best graphically, too. Fusion is also excellent graphically but a little too restrictive, giving you too many clues. I played Super Metroid after both of these, and though I still think it's a fantastic game, there were one or two passages of play that I found a little frustrating. Climbing up vertical passages is a bit tricky, and sometimes the grappling sections were a little awkward. Also, some of the graphics were slightly disappointing - I thought Maridia in particular looked a little bland, although I think I have been spoilt a little by the GBA sequels.

I haven't really got all that far into Metroid Prime and I don't own either of the sequels, nor the DS game, so I can't comment on those.

Metroid Prime on the Gamecube - they used the classic formula, and re-vamped everything into one of the best FPS games I've ever played.

I don't really like any of them... not really my type of game. Too complicated and too much re-tracing of steps for my liking.

I do remember being really impressed by the graphics of the rain falling on your helmet visor at the start of Prime, so I'll go for that one.

Hehe, actually I've only played the Gameboy version Metriod II!!! But it rocked! The music was very avantgarde and moody, the schwoop effect when aliens died, the jump thing, and most of all the great designed Giger-esque bosses. Made such an impact on me.

Playing Metroid Fusion atm on GBA, but I'm stuck...
