This is round five, the final round of my poll to celebrate my thousandth post (or so it was at the original time of writing)

As the poll will only support ten covers at a time I originally chose ten which I particularly liked, but following SirClive's suggestion I'm now running this in rounds; the winner and runner-up of each round will make it into a Grand Final poll.

Nights, Outrun, Donkey Kong

The Donkey Kong cover is simply too iconic for anybody to walk by and NOT stop to glance at.

As with the current Pac-Man cover, a screen grab of the Nights issue doesn't really do it justice - you can't see the physically raised 'snow', consisting of some type of semi-transparent gel with glitter.

I remember being particularly impressed with the NiGHTS cover when this issue arrived so I'll have to go with that one.

For the way the game screen has been integrated into the cover it has to be Kong

Outrun's making a characteristic break for the lead since last night - I thought Kong was a sure-fire winner (although I didn't vote for it myself)
