Poll: Favourite Retro Gamer cover - (round 1) poll closed

For my thousandth post (at time of writing) I thought I'd try something new - namely my first ever poll

Given the current discussions concerning design in the 'new look forum' thread, which includes the magazine as well as this site, I wondered what everyone's favourite Imagine-era cover has been?

I did one of these polls a year or so ago. It seems a bit pointless to do it with just 10 so why don't you do heats and then a final.

That would have been a better approach, you're right. I don't think I'm going to change it though as it's been a bit of a nightmare using Paint Shop Pro and ImageShack to get the covers in place (it's not my forte for certain)

I really like this month's Pac-Man cover.

It's certainly a tremendous cover, and the screen grab doesn't do the raised-vinyl effect justice. How on earth have you racked up over a thousand posts since October?! It's taken me two years to get to that number

Yep, that was a cracking cover - it was in the fourteen candidates I had but didn't make the final cut...

Of that selection, Battlezone wins it for me. The attention to detail, including the wee vector imagery for other elements, makes it a real classic. Pac-Man would then be a close second.

Just another quick suggestion - I would put the top 2 from each heat through and have 10 in the final. That would account for if one of the heats was too heavily weighted with the most popular covers (like heat 1).
