It has to be Mk vs DCU for me, only because I can actually finish it without cheating. Though I much prefer MK 2s style the end bosses and other tactics designed to get more money of arcade players have always annoyed me to much for it to rank on my favourite games. It wasn't until MK 4 that I really got into the series, due to the fact that while it was hard and unfair it was beatable.

Haven't played the new one, heard bad things but can't judge till I play it myself, no vote.

I have the Mortal Kombat vs DC game on PS3 and its not bad actually (purchased when I saw it go for £19.99 on the first week of release). Story mode is quite good and its still quite violent overall (which is important in an MK game). Not as fluid as the best fighting games around though.

Mortal Kombat 2 for me, plenty of gore and OTT fatalities as well as my favourite game as far as the character roster is concerned. AI can be a nightmare at times but I still enjoy an odd play every now and then.

As a wise man once said 'would you rather stand in human poo or dog poo?'
Well I'd rather not stand in either, but if I had to choose I go with the dog poo. So MK2 it is.

I will have to plumb for Mortal Kombat II, preferably on the SNES a great envisionment of the game on that platform!

still likely to step into the "human poo" as sir clive states and have a gander at the MK V's DCU... angels fear to tread and all that ;)

Mortal Kombat games tend to age badly. MKVDCU wins on account of not having had time to age yet.

Bah! Unbelievers! Dissidents! Heretics! and Sinners!

MK2 a definitive version, clearly the only way to Kombat ones brother or best mate into oblivion.

yeah... you can get ya super street fighters and theres fun in some of them, but nothing beats the adrenaline buzz of two masters of Ryden / Shang Tsung battling it out for over 30 minutes!

Thats just pure gamage oozing outa the controller :) ... now.... if you guys/gals were on about pit fighter I would have to agree! yuck! more wincing that watcing Windows ME boot up!

besides... how many Mortal Kombat movies and series are there hmm?

how many Street fightrers? oh... one.... van dame eh? nuff said really :)

"now if that aint a bainting, i dont know what is..."
