Forgoten Fighting games

Post by DPrinny » Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:53 pm

How about a feature on those fighting games that are little known ?

Ones like

Heavens gate
Fighting Layer (Has one of the worse cases of over powered/Cheating bossies ever)
Time killers

It probably isn't forgotten by most of us, but I liked Ballz on the Mega Drive as a kid.

To me, I thought Time Killers was a pretty poor game on both the Arcade version and Mega Drive version. :(

Some more to add to your list:-

Tobal #1
Criticom (though it was rubbish, fact you had to aim your attacks)
Battle Arena Toshinden (for Sofia's humongous norks)
Eternal Champions
Star Gladiator (if only for Rigmal's "Bit you in the balls" move)

I really liked Star Gladiators on the PS1.

Rival Schools on the PS1 is another forgotten fighting classic that I really liked and it is one of my all time favourite games.

Bloody Roar on the PS1 is another good forgotten fighting game as well.

I'd love to see Violent Fight turn up in the magazine, everyone remembers Konami's other great beat em ups such as Turtles, Simpsons and X-men but VS never gets a look in.
