Can't say there is anything I dislike. I read everything that interests me; some months that may be almost everything, others... well, it comes with the territory. I don't own many systems, will never own many systems and a lot of product doesn't boil my kettle. But there are no complaints from me about the mag itself. :)

Can't deny that the Letters page is rather uninteresting most months but, hey, that's the fault of us readers: unless we script something worth reading, Letters will always read like they were caught in a downpour. There is the odd worthwhile entrant, though.

And although I don't dislike it, the Bargain Hunt section only now gets looked at for the eBay columns. It's informative, but one only needs to be informed of the current price of all formats once a blue moon, not every month. So, perhaps once a year the Bargain Hunt listing could make an appearance. Or do it like the eBay choices - a handful of products each month.

Not sure about Pixel Perfect, yet, but it is still very early days so I shall save proper judgment for another time. :)

So, nothing disliked, just a couple of items that are not interesting enough in their present state.

If you don't do Bubble Bobble (or get me to do it), I am going to come down to Bournemouth to slap you.
Craig - what a bloody great idea mate

I don't think we should feel responsible in any way for the sh*te on the letters page - We use this forum to say thanks / moan / suggest / discuss rats on a stick etc....

Forgot about conversion capers - I really like that one. Its always nice when your favoured machine is better than the rest!
(Darran - don't bother with Wec Le Mans mate, however Power Drift.....!)

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

That was one excellent idea. As I said on the PP topic, I reckon a page of speccy "game stars" in all their pixelated glory.

Might be tempted to get a subscription now!

The Definitive... shame these are getting scarce now.
High Score - a secret life of classic games and often fascinating.

I don't like the bits that include Amstr*ds. Apart from that it's great

Desert Island Discs is probably my favourite section , although i do love the blown up screen-shots

Back to the 80's/90's is a fave of mine, although I think it would read better if it followed consecutive months, rather than jumping to random months and years in each issue - e.g. in October 2008 issue you could cover October '78 and October '88. (yes, I know, this would make it back to the 70's!) :D

The "Developer Look-Back" articles are always an interesting read. The "Making Of..." are generally very good, although the choice of game affects how much interest I have in them.

Letters page doesn't bother me too much, I can take it or leave it.

The "Retro Gamer Diary - Things to look forward to" section often contains the same info for several months in a row (especially if it's previewing a game which isn't due out for a while) so maybe that could be re-vamped a bit... then again it's "standing copy"(?) so fills a page without too much effort each month.
GAME OVER YEEEAAAHHH!

The letters page is one of the first ones I turn to, actually. Granted it's usually somewhat disappointing (especially given the specialist nature of the From the Forum questions of late... gah), but perhaps I should stop moaning and send in some proper snail mail letters under an unlikely pseudonym or something ;)

And another vote for the big blown up screenshots taking most of a double-page spread, those are simply fantastic and should never cease :D

Funnily enough, a certain freelancer (me) has pitched a couple of Power Drift articles to our esteemed overlord a few times, although conversion capers is rather reliant on getting the agreement of Mr. Chris Butler, who's currently proving rather elusive.

I like pretty much everything in the mag but my favourites are :-

Retroinspection
Developer Lookbacks
The Making Of
Retro Rated
The Definitive

and some of the articles that don't feature that often like :-

The Complete Lowdown
The History Of
Full Of Eastern Promise

Things I'm not really fussed about, although I'm still quite happy to read, are :-

Back To The 90s
The Diary
Retro Revival with 1 screenshot
Splink!

I liked collectors corner the way it was before, (it was my favourite part of the mag)............now it is just a bunch of pics without any meaning or story behind them.

Most of the time I just skip right past it now

I'm struggling to think of anything worthy to contribute here, as Retro Gamer is the only magazine in the last 15 or so years that I pour over, devouring every little piece of content that I can. However, the least interesting bits for me are the price guides at the back, mainly because its 95% the same every issue.

The mag really seems to improve every issue. Loving the Pixel Perfect piece.

Edit: post above poked me in the thought box: I like Collectors Corner, but if you could make it more personal again, with stories from the collector, reasons why they're such an OCD-riddled freak etc. that would be great.

I agree with Stickhead. Bar PC Zone (pre 2004 mind, I think its gone a bit wanky now) and Hotdog Magazine(sadly missed along with Neon) RG is the only mag I will read all the way through. There's nought I dislike as such but "Full of eastern promise" always gets read last.

Yes Eastern Promise is one of the ones I avoid until the end.
