LDC Hand Held / Tabletop Article

Post by Bub&Bob » Fri Sep 12, 2008 7:35 am

Really great that we had the Game & Watch article so now there's no reason not to have something about all the others.

Astro Wars is (and will always be) my favourite.

- some others which I used to love:

What memories you have evoked! Munchman that yellow round one, ha i had that and astrowars!

Also had one where you played a caveman, think it was kind of brown rock effect plastic - any idea what it was called?

I used to wildly masturbate over these within the sacred pages of Argos.

I always wondered why the pages stuck together when I looked at the catalogues in Argos.

Which is impressive when you consider their laminated cladding.

I want BMX Flyer. Been watching it on ebay for a while now, missed out on a couple of bargains this week with it though as I was lax following so many that I didn't win.

Don't suppose anyone wants to sell me one? Not too bothered about condition as long as its playable and the price isn't stupid.

We should have at least half a page dedicated to one of these machines each month in RG.

That site looks incredibly comprehensive, but I wish there were thumbnails. I don't know where to start looking for the blue plastic space-invaders clone handheld I got one Christmas instead of the Astrocade one I'd asked for...

There's a friendly forum - if you give as much detail as possible I'm sure they'll ID it. For fun you could post here though, I reckon one of us will know it.

Note that region is important, as many games were licensed by different distributors in different countries and often carried different names, labels or colour schemes.

As I said above, sometimes the plastics change with region.
