I'm particularly impressed by the retro-themed porn ad this month. Text retro to a phone number and you gain access to a WAP site. Very 1999!
What always gets me is the ad for another magazine that follows the Next Month page. I keep thinking that's the Next Month page. Especially this month's retro-themed N Revolution ad. I only figured out something was wrong when I got as far as "Hot New Games."
It's called a MEGADRIVE

Apparently, those issues have been selling well, though.

I loved the top 25 arcade games rundown - though shamefully i've only ever pressed my wad thru a few of their slots - croydon was low on arcades when I were a lad.

i think though that the wooden East German arcade machine I saw at the Game On exhibition deserved a posthumous mention - apparently the product of Erich Honecker's love of hunting. Basically it was the Trabant of arcade machines.

The homebrew section was excellent, I would definitely vote for a little more homebrew reviews. Love to see what people are doing nowadays on the 8-bits.

Well done on a great issue. I have been reading since load 41, and I
must say this is the best Retro Gamer I've ever read!

I always love the glossy covers, but this OutRun one is just great, easily the best I've ever seen. Every page is a good read, too, minus the collector's corner, where as in some issues there have been articles which I didn't like much, like the making of NiGHTS in issue forty-something, especially as the new NiGHTS game is rubbish (I've never played the original). The best bit has to be the interview with Yu Suzuki, and in reply to your Retrobate: My favourite OutRun game is OutRun 2 in the arcades,
which I still play on a lot at my local arcade even today, about 5 years later.
Keep up the good work,

starcing horace.

Have read it cover to cover 3 times now, only bloody magazine I took with me abroad! Very good though. Only books I took were The Time Machine Did It! by Simpsons writer John Swartzwelder and Games Machines 1972 to 2005 by Gameplan, an excellent book covering all systems just about.

Another great mag, loved the Konami and Arcade features as well as seeing Megaman 2 featured in back to the 90's!

Read it few days ago and I was very impressed with the Out Run feature articles. What's interesting about the feature was the comparison of each conversions, in which I was familiar with it on the Master System.

Good to have Q-Bert being mentioned and I was surprised that Donkey Kong topped the arcade list.
