Re: Franchises everyone loves but you hate.
Gears of War. I played it a few times, got as far as the third act and then got distracted by a different game. Painting the garage door. I went back to it, after about 12 months and finished it off but I really don't get it. My opinion won't be helped by the fact that I was truly awful at th...
Re: Students
When i was at uni i also had a weekend job so as well as getting a grant i had my own money, and i lived at home rather than in halls of residence or renting. I was lucky really....but i did drink a lot. :D :D :D I did the same thing - kept my p/t job and stayed at more parents during term time. Whe...

Re: Favorite Playstation 1 game????
I played on my cousin's Playstation quite a few times, didn't have one myself, and have great memories of Psygnosis' Destruction Derby.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
I picked up Defender for the Gamecube yesterday. A price of £2.99, in Gamestation, was enough to tempt me to try it.
It's best played whilst trying hard to forget it's lineage.

Re: Introduce yourself
Shame its too late for you to go to the retro show in Stoke, coming up this weekend, should be great. I was reading about this event on the forum somewhere. It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun! I live in Fife though so it's a bit too far away for me. 'Discovered' the PC Engine through emulation, s...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Not a great retro "find" but I downloaded R-Type Dimensions. I tried to resist it (1200 MS Points!) but I crumbled.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hello, I'm Matt. I joined the forum yesterday. First I have to say that I'm impressed with what I've read so far. The only hitch is that I feel like I'll need to take a week or two off work to read everything else! It's great to see lot's of gaming knowledge and a friendly feel on the boards. Hopefu...

Re: Who remembers Burnin Rubber?
I remember the GX4000 version of Burning Rubber. I still have it. It's in the box along with the console on a very high shelf probably feeling very unloved and dusty. I haven't played it for a long time but I might have to give it a whirl again soon after reading this thread. Btw, I agree with the c...

Re: What are you currently playing?
I'm playing Fallout 3. While it's a fascinating game to play I'm finding it quite laborious. So, into the mix go Robotron 2084, Bomberman & I purchased R-Type Dimensions at the weekend. I'm also into Onslaught on the Wii at the moment. It's a lot of fun and 4 player friend matches are a riot! Ovine'...

Re: Mr. Biffo
Has anyone else read Mr Biffo's Confessions of a Chatroom Freak? It's utterly bizarre and hugely funny. It's well worth checking out.
I wouldn't recommend reading it in public unless you're used to getting strange looks.
