Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Switch is having a good E3, with plenty of first-party games and great indie stuff like Rocket League being announced. Ubisoft seem to be quite supportive too, with Mario x Rabbids, Rayman, Steep and... er... Just Dance all getting confirmed. Still nothing much from the other big publishers, though....

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
If anyone has an 8BitDo controller, then with a firmware update they can now be used on the Switch! The website says 'any' of their controllers can be used in this way, but fails to mention that the Zero and the N64 controller don't get the update. I bought a Zero last year for my Windows phone, bef...

Re: Has Competing Hardware simply become an annoyance?
TBH gamers are their own worst enemies here. They moan that the Xbox and PlayStation are interchangable with largely identical libraries, but when a genuine alternative is available such as the Ouya or Wii U they don't buy it because they can't play CoD and FIFA on it. I do remember the days when co...

Re: 5 games you want to see ported to the Switch
I'm just hoping we get a decent FIFA instead of the hobbled hot mess that the Wii U version was. Not holding out much hope but you never know. There must be lots of people who would love to play a console quality FIFA on a handheld, you'd think, so it could be a system seller. Come on EA, don't mess...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I hope they update the desktop soon. I bought a bunch of the Neo Geo titles and they clutter up the desktop horribly, I really want to be able to put them in a folder where they'll look neater but there's no option. I tried moving them to an SD card but it still forces you to keep the icons on the d...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Launch day adopter here. I struggled a lot with joycon syncing but now it's virtually absent. At the moment I'm quite happy with the pace in which they are releasing games, I enjoy taking my time with some of these games so there's certainly a method to Nintendo's apparent madness! Bomberman R is s...

Re: Nintendo releasing a new NES !
I get the sense it was always intended as a short-term product. Wii U was on its last legs by last Christmas, the best days of 3DS were behind rather than ahead of it and and Switch wasn't out until March so they presumably wanted something Nintendo branded that could maintain a presence in stores ...

Re: Nintendo releasing a new NES !
If I'm bring charitable, I might put it down to them wanting to put their resources into ramping up Switch production instead. Maybe. Who knows, it is an odd decision.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Anyone see the Direct? It showed off ARMS ad Splatoon 2 in more detail with both looking better than the last time they were shown. The big news is Minecraft is confirmed and Payday 2 is coming. Still no news on any major third-party titles beside indie stuff but the exciting news is we have one big...

Re: LiquidSky - Cloud-based streaming PC gaming platform
I for one thought OnLive worked really well, letting me play brand new AAA games on my old second hand PC without an upgrade. The concept was genius but there's a huge problem - if the company folds and the servers are turned off, you lose the games you paid hundreds for. This seems to be going with...

Re: Bayonetta now on PC
That was it? After the days of hype building I thought it was going to be Bayonetta 3 on Switch rather than a belated PC port of the years-old original. Still, it's a good game so pleased for non-360/PS3/Wii U owning PC gamers.

Re: Racing Apex
Its going to have to play well to sell, as those visuals look dated rather than stylised. Yes, early 2D games can look stylish and colourful which is why so many great games still use that style, whereas early 3D games just look a bit crap now. I think the 16 bit era still holds up visually in a wa...

Re: Poor sequels
It's worth remembering that all lists are subjective so we won't all agree :) The general concensus is that it's one of the weakest games in the franchise. It might not even make our final list, but it's one that stuck in my mind when I started playing Chuckie Egg II :) Though it's not bad, I'd agr...
