Re: Which was really better - 64 or ZX?
Doesn't the Atari version require a huge RAM upgrade to around 300K though?

Re: Which was really better - 64 or ZX?
And in the interest of fairness, if we are going to compare versions of Stunt Car Racer, how about showing it at the speed a C64 actually runs it at!!

Re: Which was really better - 64 or ZX?
Spectrum all the way for me, I had mates with Amstrads and Commodores, so we just used to play the best games from each other's systems, I could appreciate the other machines, but the little ZX was just fantastic, I played and enjoyed too many games to say anything else, I still have every one of th...

Re: What game/s do you think got unfairly reviewed?
I thought Haze on PS3 got a bum rap, that game had some really cool ideas and fairly solid gameplay. Certainly wasn't as bad as the 2.0 scores it was awarded. Although some of the reviews were overly harsh, most got the game exactly right, I would have said it was a 5-6/10 game, prone to peculiar s...

Re: Memories of the first Ridge Racer (PS1)
Still the only game that has made me buy a console on sight, saw it running on one machine in Gamestation in Bedford, while another on the other side of the counter had Wipeout, before that I was all geared up to wait for better games on the Saturn, I remember the excitement in the shop, just such a...

Re: Have you improved as a gamer over time?
I'm worse. Much worse. It's simply down to practice, I don't play anywhere near the amount I used to. Same. Same here too. It's down to work and decreased interest admittedly. I can be quite happy to sit down to a game, but it's not often they hold my interest for extended periods any more. I am th...

Re: Oculus Rift price released....
They had this on view at Butlins in Bognor Regis, couldnt get close enough to have a go but they had a monitor showing the view that the headset had. Not sure what the fuss is about , looks like a fairly dull gimmick to say the least. If this is the future of so called Virtual Reality then its as p...

Re: Amiga vs ST
I have to go with the ST here, even though I know it was not as good a machine, I loved the look of it, and it was a great games machine for the few years that it was well supported, even when all my mates, and I mean all of them had Amigas or Megadrives, I stuck with the old ST, and in fact only re...

Re: Most and least durable controllers
PC Engine/Turbografx regular pads just keep going and going, NES ones too, as do my 7800 pads, going back a bit, my two old Powerplay Cruiser joysticks still work flawlessly after 30 years, they were hugely expensive for the time, but so worth it. Least durable for me would have to be Dreamcast ones...

Re: R.I.P. Ronnie Corbett
Yes, another legend gone, the Two Ronnies were brilliant, I remember doing the hardware sketch at school with a mate for an end of year thing we were doing, fork handles etc, only we misjudged how much the audience could see, so of course putting four tiny candles on the desk, up on a stage, and wit...

Re: Favourite Quake Game
Quake was a good game, but the sequel improved on it in every way for me, it looked fantastic, the one player game was far more interesting, and it was one of the few PC games that made me upgrade my machine so it ran properly, so it must have been excellent. Quake III was of no interest being multi...

Re: Best version of the original Turtles game
Only just saw this, haven't voted yet actually, so nice to see the ST version getting some love. I don't think it's a good game on any format, but I have the most nostalgia for the Speccy port, I love Dave Perry and Nick Bruty's full colour mode, it was so impressive. Are you not going to vote then...

No 3D Control Pad option ?
The Saturn pad we got in later packs was pretty good, I think that was the Japanese design.

Re: What type of PC Upgrader are you?
My last PC was a Windows XP machine, bought in 2001, and junked only when the operating system failed to update in April 2014 and just kept locking up, it took five minutes to boot, but still accessed the internet, ran paint shop pro etc. Replaced it with a lap top that I have a feeling may last a c...
