Re: The64 - Computer And Handheld Console

As an owner of a C64, Vic 20, 2 x C16 and a Plus 4, with an SD adapter that runs games on all four, this is of minimal interest to me, if I did not own them, then the price would still put me right off, far above an impulse buy, and requiring a massive leap of faith to put that sort of money down on...

Re: From The Forum issue 163 - Tomb Raider memories

I went into my local Choices Video to buy Fighting Vipers for the Saturn, picked that up and then noticed the Tomb Raider box, thought it looked interesting, and having more disposable income back then bought that as well, loaded it up and absolutely loved it, especially how the beautiful score woul...

Re: Centre For Computing History Cambridge

It's a shame they don't hold weekend afternoon Retro gaming events, for people having to rely on buses and trains having an event 7pm till midnight midweek is a no go for me :( This would actually be quite hard for us to do during normal opening hours as the museum's primary function is to learn ab...

Re: Another Metro list article- most valuable video games

Some peculiar choices there, Viewpoint is not anywhere near the top end of expensive Neo Geo carts, a Metal Slug cart I was watching a while ago sold for £2,060. Some strange omissions as well, such as Castlevania Symphony of the Night PAL, which regularly sells for way more than most of the games o...

Some great articles this month, Bonk's Revenge, Final Fight, and a great piece on the N64, just one small complaint, my comment on Reasons To love the N64 has been attributed to Mayhem!

Re: From The Forum issue 157 - Reasons To Love The N64

Although it was jarring to go back to subtitles and cartoons in the cut scenes after a couple of years of the Playstation and Saturn doing FMV stuff, after playing Shadows of the Empire, SM64, WaveRace, Goldeneye and a whole load more I grew to absolutely love the machine, especially when I replaced...

Re: Worst quality computer/console hardware revision?

Am I the only person who could never get on with the Gameboy Advance SP? Much preferred the original. No you're not, I really wish Nintendo had just put a light in the old shaped model, that was so comfortable to hold, the SP was just too small, cramped my hands up no end after no time at all, the ...

Re: Worst quality computer/console hardware revision?

The OP question is about which is the worst hardware revision, some of the answers are a touch off here, the GX4000 was never revised for one. For me it just has to be the Master System 2, with that cartridge slot cover that makes it look like a toilet roll holder, the absolutely dreadful RF picture...

Re: Need help finding a 90's PC racing game

I bought a Power VR pack with that in as well, absolutely a top racer, can't remember if it was force feedback as well, the card had Tomb Raider as well, both looked stunning for the time, but I totally backed the wrong horse with that, very little ending up using it, all went with 3D FX

Re: Which was really better - 64 or ZX?

If you really think about it though, the whole which is better argument should be mute where these two machines are concerned, the C64 cost way more than the Spectrum did, and I did not know a single person back in the day who had a disk drive, they were so expensive, and to add insult to injury, we...

Re: Your favourite C16 Plus/4 games.

I think Green Beret is the worst game I have played on my Plus/4, thank God for Bridgehead (which you mentioned). I've not played any of the recent conversions, if I get some time I'll have to look them up. Green Beret is the worst game I have played on any system full stop, tied with Jailbreak, al...

Re: Your favourite C16 Plus/4 games.

Nice thread, some good games mentioned so far, I would definitely pick any of the Udo Gertz games, Winter Events, Summer Events and Tom Thumb, don't know how they were crammed into 12.5K. So true that the machine was home to some really terrible games especially when trying to emulate it's contempor...
