Re: Bob Wakelin tribute
Sadly the younger generation and most gamers outside the UK will not recognise the name, but they should, as they have almost certainly seen his classic artwork at some point in their gaming lives, the thing that shocks me the most when looking up his work is that there is not even a Wikipedia page ...

River raid for me, it would still be in my top 50 games of all time the amount of hours I've spent on it.

Re: From The Forum issue 174 - Your favourite Xbox game
It was the first machine that I played Half Life 2 on, and it was an amazing achievement on the hardware, it does struggle technically in a few places, but I loved it, and for some reason Woolworths were selling it for only twenty quid a few weeks after release which made it all the more enjoyable.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Got myself a Tapewave Zodiac 2, of course my PC refuses to recognise it, does anyone have experience of these, how to get software on it, I have managed to Bluetooth some stuff over, but apart from a Tetris game it plays nothing, the software is in the games folder, but I guess the files are not in...

Re: Any NES or SNES gamers here?
Absolutely, still use the original consoles, but tend to keep the Everdrive in the NES these days, have 44 boxed games for it, but never get them out anymore. The SNES though I use the original carts, about 70 PAL, 26 American NTSC and 9 Super Famicom, all boxed, console wise there is my original 19...

Re: Console battle Q4 AMSTRAD GX4000 VS COMMODORE C64GS
The Commodore 64GS is a total garbage machine for all the reasons stated, I remember one of my mates getting hold of one, and struggling for ages to convince us it was any good, the final straw was him getting The Terminator game and not even being able to start it as it needed the F1 key, that was ...

Re: Are you backing the Spectrum Next
As a backer of the Vega Plus, I would have to see the Next in a shop or in stock on a website before parting with 180 quid, just could not back another project like this, when an already promising product has gone so awry, and I probably would not get one of these anyway, until all four of my genuin...

Re: Poor sequels
Glad you mentioned Renegade III, didnt they have QA teams back then to say 'this isnt good?' Didn't help that Crash gave it a Smash and 91% !!!! Never trusted them after that, very dodgy to say the least, wrote them a stinking letter about it, funnily enough it was not published in the mag. Such a ...

Re: Poor sequels
While concurring with others, I would add:
Agent X II
Starglider II
Fist II
Barbarian II
Turok Evolution
Resident Evil 6
Top Gear Rally 2
More very disappointed by some of those though, rather than them being out right awful

Re: All about the handhelds
Nice set of videos those, makes me realise I need to get some more Lynx games, there are a couple of wins for the Game Gear there, I actually prefer Desert Strike on the Sega machine for instance, for the most part though for me personally I would usually go for the Lynx games anytime, such an aweso...

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll
Totally Agree PSJ3809, cannot see why anyone would keep being so critical of a project that they have no vested interest in, odd to say the least. It's very strange how the 64 handheld is not getting any of the heat that is reserved for the Vega +, despite all that is on show currently is a CAD draw...
