Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2

Anyways, overall the magazine is a good combination of previous RG articles, and makes a great read, especially I like the size, it's like 2.5 RG magazines put together. Going to read it at work throughout the week (I have lots of time at work for reading, so a double whammy of a magazine is a welco...

Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2

You should have done a fact check really. The German edition is completely revised. They even went so far as to alter the occasional UK-biased praise of certain games and systems. Several features have additional info boxes and the like focusing on the German market. On the other hand, they dropped...

Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2

Its not a show stopper though is it ? Of course it'll be the same as the english one but just translated, they wont go through the mag with a fine toothcomb to find any 'issues' before translation Dont get me wrong i want articles to be correct but issues will happen (same as in the 80's) and to me...

Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2

Started to read it at work, it's like Issue 1 of the German Retro Gamer, a compilation of previous RG articles, translated into German language, but....including the mistakes Retro Gamer made in the original English issues: One article about piracy/copy protection mentioned Alternate Reality The Cit...

Re: The Missing Retro Gamer features

I'd like to see a feature on cheat cartridges, from the first one on VCS (Answer Software personal programmer) to Datel Action Replay, Codemaster Game Genie and all the American offerings

Re: From the forum issue 114 Platformers

Yeah Manic Miner is a fantastic game and deserves all the credit it gets. It wasn't very innovative though, same with Jet Set Willy. I also think Manic Miner still looks great. So what else was out at the same time or before like Manic Miner? Miner 2049 was no where near the same style of game........

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 113 - Feedback Thread

Just reading my issue, good Amiga article except......a whole page wasted on crappy joysticks? and not enough American classics, stuff from EA, MicroProse, Origin. But still, it's a personal article and me being an Amiga user since day 2, I liked it. The first crash, yes, I remember reading about it...

Creatures 1 and 2 how could I forget those two classics (C64 of course).
Spelunker (A8) great game too.
Keystone Kapers (VCS), excellent game, used to play it for hours

Re: From the forum issue 114 Platformers

I love Sir Lancelot, but the Atari VCS version, which is a Joust-style of game.

Anyway, an overlooked classic, actually a British written game and excellent to boot, Cavernia (Zeppelin Games, 1990) on A8.

Re: From the forum issue 114 Platformers

I couldn't remember the game's title, just the bouncing car, after searching I found the info on KLOV, it's named under the genre 'platform game'. KLOV are pretty much always spot on. (or it's their opinion, you decide) I'll believe my own eyes rather than what a website says. It certainly has plat...
