Re: Bookazines / Specials

That's a shame. Game art is what I'm particularly interested in. Would like bookazine on game art of the likes of res evil, silent Hill, final fantasy and Zelda etc. Most of the art books are pretty but lack interviews and info. Concept art final renderings and artist interviews is what I'd like to...

Re: Bookazines / Specials

I flipped through the Pixel bookazine at Barnes & Noble (US)... most of it is interviews with artists about their own projects, and not about commercial games. I was hoping to see a mix of coverage, including more about game art. The game spreads are nice, but there is no text to go with them.

The plot thickens... I just received #168 here in Atlanta, which puts it 20 days after the UK release. If that will be the delivery delay going forward, I am OK with that.

An improvement: my copy of #167 (Super Famicom version) arrived on Thursday last week (June 2), to Atlanta.

I'm also located in Vegas, so closer to the west coast if that helps anyone in regards to when they may get their copies.
A two-week difference between me getting mine in Atlanta and you getting yours in Las Vegas? How bizarre.

I don't mind waiting if I was a) certain it would eventually arrive and b) if it didn't arrive, that replacement copies would still be available after such a delay. It's funny that I just experienced the same issue with my White Dwarf (Games Workshop) subscription. However, they were very quick to a...

Re: Subscription discount code for Future?

Hey Darran, thanks! I actually did try doing that as a renewal before posting, but the "renewalOffers" web route was timing out. It looks like it is working now, so done!

Subscription discount code for Future?

Hey folks,

It looks like subscription operations have now moved from Imagine to Future, as expected. I used to use the "CLASSIC" discount code to get the £50 annual rate. Is there another discount code we can use at Future? If not, it looks like we will be paying $103 (about £80) in the US. Thanks!

Re: Are US subscriptions now being shipped from within the US? Shipping speed VERY slow. Packaging flimsy.

Good news... I finally received my #166 today (May 13) in Atlanta, GA. It was slightly damaged, with a half-inch tear on the back cover and a few pages, but not enough to really complain about. Hopefully #167 isn't too far behind, and that future (Future... heh) issues aren't so late.

I have still not received my #166, so it is good to know that I am not alone and that I may actually be getting it soon! And I was also disappointed to see #166 at B&N before I received my copy.

I sent an email to retrogamer@servicehelpline.co.uk a few days ago, but have not received a reply.

Re: Bookazines / Specials

Everything is in the process of transferring over to the Future website. All future bookazines will be publisher by Future, I'll also be overseeing any of the new books that get released. Darran, thanks for the confirmation! I hope things are going well under the new management (however that works ...

Re: Bookazines / Specials

I looked around but didn't see an obvious answer, so... what is the status of RG bookazines with the move to Future? I noticed they are no longer available at the Imagine site, and only the N64 and SNES books are available at the Future site. Will these continue to be produced by Future? Will any pr...

Retro Volume 9.
Which reminds me to ask this... what is Retro? Is it basically the same thing as Retro Gamer Collection but for GamesTM? Worth getting in addition to a Retro Gamer subscription, or redundant? (limited shelf space and all that) Thanks!

Re: Bookazines / Specials

How is the digital version nowadays? I don't like proprietary readers that may mean I lose access to the issues in the future. PDF is best, as that format is unlikely to go away anytime soon, but I don't think these are available in that format.

Re: Bookazines / Specials

Imagine has some terrific online Bookazine specials at the moment. I went to get the Sega book but bought the '80s Sci fi bookazine instead as it was 1.99! So will have to head back and get the Sega one in a couple of weeks, stock permitting :) The sales are nice, except the international shipping ...
