Resident Evil 1 - just brilliant. Actually gives me shivers hearing it. Anyone that's a fan of "Spaced" on Channel 4 in the UK like me will have seen an entire epsiode using segments from this - just fantastic. Wasn't that the episode where Tim actually believes he's in Resident Evil? And the episo...

I find that racing games are incredibly unwieldy on mobile phones (racing games are my own game of choice)... but I saw a great version of Colin McRae 3 on it before. They didn't use the 2=up, 8=down, etc form of control. They used 4+5= left and right, and 3+6= up and down. If only all racing games ...

Has to be YS. I'm still constantly amazed to see their names pop in magazines for other mags I buy now. Stuart Campbell for instance... I'm guessing that he is one and the same as our own Retro Gamer writer. Matt Bielby the editor of Deathray magazine Marcus Berkman who wrote in Dreamwatch for a whi...

Best background music

Okay. This has probably been done before (so if someone can point me in the direction of the original thread, I'd be happy to look)... but what's your favourite pieces of background music in games (retro or not)? The sort of music that is memorable, and actually makes you go play the game to hear th...

Escort missions! Where you've not only got to avoid getting shot, knifed, maimed, murdered yourself, but you've also got to protect some other numpty who insists on standing in the line of fire. (You can also translate this to games like GTA where you have to protect other cars and space-based missi...

Only ever played on the school BBC... but I remember they had one game which I can't remember the name of. (Sorry). All I remember it was a side-on platform game featuring a spaceman. I loved Imogen when I played it but does anyone know the name of the spaceman game? Could it be Bug Eyes? Sorry no....

I popped into my local Gamestation today to see if they had any "overpriced retro items" for use in another thread. Fatal because as expensive as they are for retro games, I like their price for XBox and 360 games so I came away with Bullet Witch and Test Drive Unlimited for £30

Funny... play up to the stereotypical racist Welsh sheep joke. :x As an actual answer to the question, try the open indoor market. They used to have a gaming stall in there to the left hand side of the main entrance. I don't know if it's still there as it's been a good five years since I went there ...
