I know this thread was almost dead and buried, but I only just found it and wanted to add to it. I got my first car, a Sand Scorcher in 1983, and as recently as this week am still buying them ! I got the re-release HotShot which is still a great piece of kit although I'll be keeping this one in the ...

Loved my Beeb gaming days. My faves are: from Micropower Ghouls, Stock Car and Killer Gorilla ( the 'How High Can You Try' tune, is still stuck in my head! And from Acorn Soft, the fantastic Revs, and my all time favourite game on any system ever - Elite. Now, if only I could find a Model B to work ...

Great fun topic ! I remember: Action man, had several, best fun was the parachute and the places he got chucked from and 'survived' ! Slot cars ! Scalextrix was/is the greatest, but did like a few of you also have Race and Chase and TCR Lego ! I loved what you could do with Technic. I still have my ...

OK, so how to build up a team feel for the readers?
Simple things like the differing emotions on the pics was just one thing.
I like reviews with more than one opinion in them, that seems to indicate some sort of 'getting together and chatting about a game or product'.

How about all of the final fantasy games.
Could be just my taste, as unlike some of the other posters here I think GT4 is a tremendous game, I just don't like any of the final fantasy games.
A bad racing sequel was : Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit

Re:

One thing RG lacks is the kind of team spirit that YS used to have where even the art people were part of the team that appeared in the mag Trouble is that RG is written mainly by freelancers who have never met one another. The kind of team spirit of which you speak is only really possible when all...

The Contributors Pics In The Mag

You know the ones I mean, with the initials on them. This may have come up already, but I couldn't find it, so, I miss the old style from Zzap and Crash, where they had several different expressions mostly for reviews, where one look at the faces told you good, bad or very very very bad ! Can we hav...

Always ask to look at the particular disk you are buying. I must have been super lucky with Cash Convertors, I had chosen an NBA game, and the guy behind the counter checked out for me, he said he would NOT sell it to me due to some scratches on it !!! But, the thing is, that guy and his attitude ma...

we seems to have gotten slightly off topic, so back to it: Jax, just head over to Victoria to get away from the tourist crowds, although as I'm sure you know, it's hardly got the best nightlife ! :D And, LANARK !! home of the Worlds Greatest Rally Driver !! Opa Opa, same as being from Scotland :wink...

My local Cash Convertors has an awesome machine that took most of the marks from my DC disks ( typically those circular marks that are very tough to remove with home use cleaners) Didn't charge me either which was good, mind you I did buy some other goodies while I was there - well, it would have be...

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it seems related, so;
Can I set up a Direct Debit to get the mag to me in Canada? I still have a current UK account, and this would save me in exchange fees.
VERY hard to get the mag reliably here in the stores.

Thanks

I moved to Calgary, from Glasgow Scotland, 4 years ago now. Best thing I ever did. I was raised on a steady diet of Speccys, Amigas, Beebs, Mega Drives etc, but since moving here I have had to try to buy NTSC versions of all those old PAL machines I sold off before moving here. Doing pretty good so ...
