Re: Craziness In the retro community

What's this guy actually done? Because from the point of view of someone who doesn't know anything about it, it seems like years of a huge group of people ganging up on someone. I'm sure there's more to it than that, so has this guy gone out of his way to abuse and upset people, or just written some...

Re: Why is Tails hated so much?

Good question. I'd say Jar Jar because (and I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, I've only ever really seen the original trilogy, but a lot of people say...) he ruined the big comeback movie that people had been waiting so long for. Whereas I don't think Scooby Doo really had the same level of fanatic fand...

Lol probably the same reason Scrappy doo pisses me off on Scooby doo
And what's that nonsense reason?
Seems an interesting thing to jump on - Scrappy Doo is pretty much universally hated by everyone!

Re: Journey and Uncharted Trilogy free on PS4

My favorite thing about this is all the people in the comments section on the PSN blog bitching and whining that Uncharted was on PS+ in January and complaining that German customers get Knack 2 instead. They're literally crying about the fact they're not going to get to play a game they were never ...

Re: Conversion Capers feels lazy

I can't really agree with this. I don't think a Conversion Capers write up necessarily needs a lengthy play through in order to write about each version. The game would be largely the same (and if it's not, this would be pointed out) so really the main things to point out would be alterations in the...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

That's disappointing to hear, the original is still one of the best arcade games. Is the original game unlockable in any way? I'd still kill for an arcade perfect port of Rainbow Islands on Switch, too.

Re: Quick Reference Guide to Retro Metroidvania/Platform Adventure Games

Interesting site, although a lot of games I wouldn't consider MetroidVanias at all really. Stuff like Donkey Kong Country and Mario 64 etc. Good to have a look through, though.

Re: Has anyone played the Megadrive Classics collection on Switch?

I own the Megadrive Collection for PSP, PS3 and PS4. I'd say the PS3 version is probably the best since the PSP lacks quite a few games including the SoR series and the PS4 one doesn't have Ecco etc. The PS3 one also has Sonic 3 and S&K which makes it quite good. The PS3 one also let you unlock a co...

Hopefully not a thicko question BUT...are the joycon-related lag issues on games negotiated by playing on a Switch Lite where it's all built-in?!?
Interesting question, I'd be curious to know too.

Re: Has anyone played the Megadrive Classics collection on Switch?

I'm not sure I'd agree most games suffer from input lag. It's not something I've ever noticed at all really, including Doom Classic. Someone elsewhere said the NES and SNES online games are really bad too, but again I've not had any issues at all with those. I remember Super Mario World on the Wii h...

Re: Has anyone played the Megadrive Classics collection on Switch?

It's a pain, I had the PS3 and PSP collections and don't ever remember there being an issue with those, or at least I didn't notice at the time. No excuse though when M2 are banging out perfect versions. Just wish they'd do a SoR collection.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm currently loving Animal Crossing, having not played the series since owning the first one on Gamecube. Its providing some much needed chillout time for an hour or so before bed each night. I can't think of many games more perfect for that. I've also got South Park: The Stick Of Truth on the go f...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi everyone, I'm Alex, I'm 40, and I've been playing games my whole life. My first gaming memory was being held up by my dad on a ferry going to Ireland in 1982. I can't remember the game, but I know it had a steering wheel! After starting with an Amstrad CPC464 (the best of the 8bit home computers....

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

This morning on my Switch I finished Yoku's Island Express (100% completion). I'm not usually one for 100%ing anything, but this was a delight. It's cemented itself as one of my favorite MetroidVania... no, games of all time. Just an absolute joy from start to finish. Fingers crossed for a sequel!
