Time is the key to this without a doubt. Why would an intelligent man spend his time blabbering on if it was a wind-up? I've received several e-mails privately and he's been the nicest of nice guys. You need some sort of reason or incentive to get involved with something like this so either he's tel...

25 - Skool Daze (Spectrum 48K/C64/Amstrad) Can't believe no-one has put this one on yet. What more can be said about the most original and well-thought out 8 bit game ever made? An amazing concept, the freedom to roam around the school, humour, identifiable characters, unique gameplay. This one rea...

Finally, someone prepared to take the time to actually go through the details of the game and make some intelligent comments. Thanks Mr Baxter, a tyrannical Physical Education teacher you may be but you certainly know your retro gaming!

The thing is revgiblet is that it seems some people have been attracted to this Forum just because of the Polybius story.

If you check out coin-op.org, you'll see the amount of interest there has been for some time on the subject so i'm surprised there isn't a lot more people doing the same.

Fair enough point. In the beginning though, this was just another name on another forum but this guy really knows his stuff - I've questioned him on just about everything and he is an extemely knowledgeable and intelligent guy. To be honest, I really cannot see for the life of me that he'd be making...

Very well said Porkpie - spot on.

Steven, you're a throughly nice guy and this forum is all the more richer for people like you taking the time to give some background on these stories. Good for you and I'm sorry that you felt the need to rejoin this forum just to defend yourself.

Polybius - Deal or No Deal?

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, this has being going on for a good few weeks and there seems to be quite a few different and varied opinions as to whether there is any truth in this at all. I put it to you, dear reader. Decide for yourselves and let the good people of Retro Gamer lay this to rest once an...

Whoops - forgot to mention that I copied and pasted that response from my own e-mail inbox. I don't think Steven is prepared to give too much more away on the game because of the offers he has had to put this in some sort of professional context but he was fine for me to copy this across to the foru...

*Incidentally, there is a funny story involving the name the company name of Sinnesloschen. Our team of programmers were of varied nationalities - I'm Welsh, there was Ulrich Koller who was German and the other three were all Czechs. Basically, we wanted to treat the programming side as a completely...

So, the company name, Sinneschlossen - this translates into something like Deleting Senses or something very similar which adds a lot of fuel to the fire that this is all bunkum. Can I ask where the name originated from? Enquiring minds want to know.

I completely agree Garry. I don't want to be sucked into a right load of cobblers but I can't deny that what has been written so far by this person is very well put together and has some intellectual weight behind it, of that there is no doubt. He doesn't appear to be dodging any questions which hav...

Interesting.

So, the epileptic fit - did the game contain lots of flashing effects that could generate such an effect on someone or was it a coincidence?

I think the thing that differentiates Retro Gaming from other Retro connotations is that the first forays into video gaming were a completely new phenomenon that gave all the programmers involved a blank page to liberally use their imagination. It was a reasonably innocent, good-humoured time where ...

Maybe not. It's just that we see so many of these myths creeping around the internet, it would be nice to see someone actually put some weight behind what they have to say.

Forgive my obvious & understandable scepticism but if people are going to start sorting the wheat from the chaff in respect of all the hype and paranoia surrounding this game, you really need to back up your statement with some sort of facts and details on the game itself. I appreciate that if it tr...
