Ooops, forgot to include a screenshot, duh! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/David_Manning/J-OMG/EmpireStrikes.jpg And yes, it plays as well as it looks. Thank goodness it's finally available to download. (I had quite a few people trying to grab it via my mirror links in recent weeks)

NEWS: Retro Remakes compo 2008 - category 1 results

RR's downloads are back again - and - they've just released the results of "category 1" of the competition. This means that those of us who've waited since the RR site hack to download the games (besides the ones that I had mirror links for) can finally get our teeth into them! Eg: Empire Strikes B...

I know what you mean i still wouldn't mind getting on a NEO GEO. Oh well, I have one of those. Arcade dealers will sell MVS machines when they get them in. Check out Bumper Amusements or Amusementworx. Google is your friend there. Following on from Diz's suggestions, I strongly advise you to join t...

Hey, thanks. :) I did have a fair bit of practice after doing the reviewer heads for Zzap! 107 and the Zzap! Def Tribute . *plug plug* Well, nice work there too! :-) I really enjoyed your Mr Heli "Why You Must Play". I've never actually played that game before so you've inspired me to download the ...

Videos of the game - worth watching for how utterly awful whoever it is playing the tropical course - somehow manages to hit most walls even when driving on straights. http://arcadeheroes.com/2008/05/24/sega-rally-3-videos/ I found those videos annoying (just because they're low-res phonecam qualit...

Anyone played Sega Rally 3 (coinop) yet?

I assume for most (UK based) RG readers, the nearest one would be at the London Trocadero? I found a 4 player Deluxe setup in Sydney, there's another in Brisbane, and I now know of 2 more Aussie arcades getting it "soon". http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/David_Manning/J-OMG/sr3_twin_cab_dx_445...

Here's a question... Are there any Aussies who've WRITTEN for RG? While I haven't written anything for the mag I was mentioned by name in issue 53 in the article on Paul Johns' and Michael Fraser's excellent "The Spectrum Games Bible" (I drew their Zzap!-esque portraits). A mention's better than no...

For those of you undecided about visiting Game On (currently here in Brizzy), here's a rundown of the attractions: (MASSIVE SNIP) We've wandered right outside the scope of this forum (ie it's supposed to be about "RG magazine feedback" :D)... So... I will quickly add... " If any Aussies are interes...

Agreed.

Sometimes a particular screenshot seems more - or less - suitable for the "doublepage zoom in".

In some cases it's just uncomfortable to take it all in...
...it's like as if you're "sitting too close to the TV".

Long time reader, and for 18 months, subscriber.

I'd HATE to go back to the old "I hope my fave mag's there" days.

Classic Arcade SOCKS - brand new - for sale

Hello, I blogged about these cool classic arcade socks the other day, and a few UK/Europe gamers expressed some interest in them. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/David_Manning/J-OMG/socks_main_Y200.jpg As far as I can tell - they're only available for sale in Australia. (Tell me if I'm wrong....

Re: Socks for Christmas = Epic Win

Oh, and if mum's effort wasn't enough... Mrs_Staypuft gave me a Chrissy card. ...containing a handmade voucher for "one Hankin* upright cab - for vertical games - when one is found". WooHoooo!!!! ;) *If you don't know, Hankin made arcade cabs in Australia in the late 80's. They're a nice comfortable...

Hmm, Daz you asked for our fave "vertical shooter" which I'll take to mean fave "vertically ( scrolling ) shooter" - or else I'll never make a decision! Lets see, the variety of Slap fight vs. the many surprises of Terra Cresta vs. The robo-hijinks of UFO Robo Dangar vs. the sheer brilliance of Raid...
