Re: Retro gaming weekend Sydney

I think there's ONE Australian on these boards... Oh there's plenty of us Aussies here. (We don't put a kangaroo as our avatar, so we look kinda like 'normal' folks.) BTW - for the Aussies reading, here's some further info on the friday night activites.... ==========================================...

Re: Issue 71 Feedback Thread

Because we were the only two that turned up at the Retro Gamer party. That's what happens when you don't invite all your lovely freelancers and hog all the gin. *sulks* The gin wouldn't have bothered me had i got an invite [sits with Craig and sulks] I didn't get an invite either. And when I tried ...

Re: Issue 70 Feedback thread

I read that Dragon Ninja Why you must play feature last night. I really enjoyed reading it. Aside from Power Drift, I don't have huge nostalgic memories of the games that have been featured recently, but WYMP is slowly but surely becoming one of my favourite features in the magazine. :D I quite fan...

Re: Best Version of Dragon Ninja

Still waiting to hear why No ST option on the vote. is the poll limited to number of options you can have? :? . There's only space for 5 ports in the "Why You Must Play" articles, therefore.... only 5 options in the "forum poll" for it. If a particular WYMP game has many ports - some machines will ...

"Psycho-nics Oscar" is the game.
And if you can really 1CC it, I'm very, very impressed.

Even on my best efforts, the final level smashes me every time. :?

@Craig @Darran
Thanks very much for your detailed explanations, re: Difficulty of interviewing Japanese coders.
(It's obviously far more challenging than a simple language barrier.)

Re: Coin Op Capers

(espeically as an interview with the original jap coders is literally impossible) May I put my noob hat on, and ask why this is so , Darran? I've always suspected it was hard (As RG seems to reach many coders for the home machines) but I'm not sure I understand what difficulty one faces in finding ...

Re: Best version of Slap Fight

I started playing slap fight at the beginning of this year and so i enjoyed your article in the latest issue. I knew about some of the hidden secrets in the game but like the other reader i've not seen or heard of anything related to the staircase. I've done a search on it and absolutely nothing ca...

Re: Best version of Slap Fight

Great article - loved it... but if you were mentioning hidden secrets why did you not mention the significance of the parked helipcoter on the left hand side that only appears if you are killed at the very start? Hardly anyone knows the significance. Or is it significant??? Thanks IamJimm...

Re: Issue 67 Feedback

Why You Must Play Very interesting, but I didn't really get the part about the game's secrets and how they enhance the game. I'm also surprised to see the Atari ST port as worst version. The screenshot looks far better than the atrocious CPC outing and the reader feedback and the text indicates it ...

Ooooh dear, looks like there'll be a few Atari ST owners taking me off their Christmas card list as soon as they read the article.... :o Ok... just rcvd this month's Retro Gamer. The Staircase in Slap Fight (Arcade/Mame)... Is this a wind up?? What, if anything does it signify??? I've put hours into...
