Re: What are you currently playing?

Been playing Sleeping Dogs for the past week or so, and I'm really enjoying it. The recreation of Hong Kong is superb, so much colour and vibrancy, really captures the tone and feel of what I imagine HK to be like (based on having visited other east-Asian cities). It also plays really well - driving...

Re: Akihabara, Tokyo

Easier said then done, as with my current financial state, it would take a good while (Many years) for me to save up. Hell, I'm already saving to fly out to Mexico City hopefully this year if not the next so the only way I can REALLY save for a Japan holiday is when I am making the money to make su...

Re: Akihabara, Tokyo

You don't know how badly I want to go to Japan, not just for gaming but many many other reasons too. At this rate, I may need to spend a whole month there to get everything off my list of things to do there.... I always wanted to go too, ever since Adam & Joe Go Tokyo, but it can be expensive...

Re: Akihabara, Tokyo

Awesome, I was just there too! Bought a stack of Super Famicom games from Mandarake. That's a pretty awesome shop too, there's an entire retro floor and loads of other stuff. I completely forgot to visit Mandarake and have been kicking myself ever since. Don't know how I missed it - huge black buil...

Akihabara, Tokyo

I went to Tokyo a couple of weeks ago, and out of the 6 days I was there I must have spent three in Akihabara! Fantastic place, and for those who haven't been I thoroughly recommend it (Tokyo/Japan in general is a wonderful place). There's lots of retro goodness in Akihabara. My favourite place was ...

Re: Elite Dangerous

No it's a good point, MS would be loud about it. They love exclusives. Looks Likely for PS4 then... This from Edward Lewis, Community Manager of Frontier's forums: "Console debut in 2015 on Xbox One. We will be able to bring it to other platforms later and we'll talk about that when we have somethi...

Re: Elite Dangerous

So, a question to those who have played the PC version - could this game work on a console? I'm thinking back to space-sims I used to love, like the X-wing series - there just were never enough buttons on a console controller to make a port work. I had a 12-button PC joystick and yet I still needed ...

Re: Elite Dangerous

Every single day I get close to buying this, only to hesitate out of fear that my laptop wouldn't handle adequately. I was even contemplating getting a new PC. So, seeing this news changes things for me, as I'll no doubt get an X-Box One in the next year or so. Although, it would be even better if ...

Re: Elite Dangerous

Im so happy this is actually getting a release. Personally I couldn't give a rats ass how different it is from the PC version... and it just makes a mockery of all those PC heads telling it will never happen on consoles in the early pages of this thread. They'll probably tell us now that the game's...

Re: Blade Runner sequel

Something has just reminded me that replicants were meant to be replicas of real humans (looks, or memories, or sometimes both). So, perhaps Harrison Ford will be playing the real (and naturally aged) Deckard? The real Deckard would have some use and value because he must have been a detective or la...

I wonder if they'll go into him being a replicant?

From what I can remember, don't replicants have a 4-6 ear life span?

Re: current gen and previous gen

PS3/360 were quite a leap on their predecessors because of HD, online-play (as standard) and motion control/capturing. With PS4/One, I have yet to see any significant improvements in game graphics, save perhaps for better frame-rates and lighting. Online-play has, for me, taken a backward step now t...

Re: Poll - Who would you vote for NOW.

I'm asuming all the Tory voting is related to this being a Retro Games forum and us all getting misty eyed about the 80's? Wasn't that the gist of one of Labour's campaign posters at the last election?! Sure they did something along those lines (the 80s, not Retro Games). EDIT: Found it, was ...

Re: Poll - Who would you vote for NOW.

As for 'not voting' thats obviously a complete waste. No more a waste than voting Labour in a Tory safe seat. Or indeed voting Tory in a Tory safe seat! It's just not that simple. Perhaps 'waste' is the wrong word (not condemning your use of it, I just mean generally in political discourse)? What i...
