Re: Video Game Carnival * Aldershot, UK * 28th Mar 2015

Well I'd say that it was a total success!

Highlights for me were getting to the finals of the Street Fighter 2 competition (something I never thought would ever happen), my first (and second, and third) experience with the Occulus Rift, and ten-player Bomberman projected onto a wall.

It might be a good idea to mention that the venue are requesting people to order tickets (although they are free) in order to make sure they don't go over capacity. Get tickets here!

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 140 Retro Bargains

Bought two sealed copies of The Legend of Zelda - Collector's Edition (the promotional one included in the limited edition Mario Kart: Double Dash console bundle) for £1.50 a couple of years ago. Not being a collector I didn't know what they were worth, figuring I could get a tenner or so direct tra...

Re: New “retro” Console.

I can't help but think this is a very baaaaaad idea. What with Android devices capable of rerto emulation and devices with physical controls and av out are just as capable of providing proper original games. Still I've been wrong before. £50 Android set top box dose everything upto PSP Some mame ga...

Re: New “retro” Console.

Awful idea. Who needs a huge box when we all know what can be achieved on a machine the size of a credit card? And who needs a pile of cartridges when we know how much data can fit on a single SD card? In the latter days of cartridge games, people were falling over themselves for Flash-based multi-...

Also got mine not long ago. So far it has taken everything I have thrown at it. Having fun with Sonic rom hacks at the moment.

Re: RetroN 5 Thoughts

Mine's arriving tomorrow. I got all excited and bought a Japanese copy of Super Mario RPG, before realising that ordering a RPG that is entirely in Japanese probably wasn't the best idea. Thank goodness a firmware update allows fan translations! I did buy my Retron 5 on eBay though, so don't worry -...

I often see games in their "2 for £20" deals that were around £5 before the promotion.
