Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 178

Plenty of interest in this one for me, and I'm all for more in depth features when they're a game I like. I'm glad my Perfect Dark mention got into "From the Forum" - my first appearance. :D

Despite having a N64 from the early days I never got Golden Eye and still have not played it. I did get its spiritual successor though Perfect Dark.
Tell me more...

Re: Almost every issue I receive gets ruined in the mail

In the UK we'd probably get compensation if something arrived that badly damaged. It'd be up to the sender to claim from Royal Mail (or whoever delivers it) I think. Your photo is shocking and I'd be complaining to the local Royal Mail straightaway, but we are supposed to be good complainers in the ...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

Thats probably just the perspective of a UK viewpoint - the NES had an incredible lineup from Nintendo, Rare, Konami, Capcom, Taito, Square etc and dominated in many countries. Its probably reflecting that the reader base for RG is becoming more global. I don't think it's that. I had lots of fun wi...

Re: 8-Bit vs Old School Rave

I enjoy hearing this sort of stuff in regular songs. I love this song by Class Actress, which is on the pop side, and the melody is great too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxl0m8Ut5uA

I'd love to attempt it myself, but haven't got around to it yet.

Re: Preschool Console Games

A friend has all of the current generation consoles and his 5 year-old likes the Wii U (which I guess will move to the Switch, which he's only had for a couple of weeks). There's Lego City Undercover, Mario of course, and a couple of other games I can't remember the name of - there's one with nice c...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

I was hoping for a bit more info on the various top 30 systems, but I'm aware there's only so much you can fit in a magazine! I'm pleased to see the SNES at the top - I voted it 1st, and the Megadrive much lower down my top 10 (though I'm not sure if my votes were too late to count) so it was intere...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 176

I enjoyed the Contra article, and didn't know it existed on the Megadrive, so will have to track that down. I'm yet to read the Amstrad and Turok articles, which are the others I'm looking forward to most.

Re: From the forum issue 178 - Goldeneye

Everything, but especially the level-design and music, was brilliant. I think I part-exchanged it for Turok and my brother wasn't too happy at first. Even without the multiplayer it was the best first-person shooter we'd played. Perfect Dark has to get a mention as it improved on the already-amazing...

Just what I was about to say. Many people won't post thanks to the browser warnings and/or extra annoyance of having to confirm everything.

Re: From The Forum issue 177 - 2018 retro wishes

As im sure it's happened before why in god's arse can't Nintendo and Microsoft just come to a deal and MS make a % on every copy of goldeneye, Banjo, perfect dark etc sold off the virtual console/a future N64 mini. Nintendo would please lots of their fans and would still make a mint off it as all y...

Re: From The Forum issue 177 - 2018 retro wishes

I'd love an N64 Mini. It'd have to have most of these games on though, which I know is unlikely for various reasons, but mostly licensing: Blast Corps Body Harvest Conker's Bad Fur Day Excitebike 64 F Zero X (with level editor) Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon Perfect Dark Space Station Silicon Valley...

Re: Retro Gamer 175

Does the calendar have enough space to write stuff in for each day? None of the games on the cover interest me, and I was a bit put off by the price increase, but I might buy it for the calendar! Each day has a 37x23mm box, so I guess that depends on how big your writing is. Thanks. It sounds just ...
