This is my fav RPG of all time and I came across it purely by accident. I played the GC version cause I had read that the battles were less frequent than the DC one. You can avoid battles completely but only much, much later in the game. I rather like the combat and if you can check the colour that ...

I have a slim PS2 and have been using the swap tool for a few years now. Although I don't use it all the time, it has always worked and I've never had any problems loading retail games.

Swap Magic is great for custom tracks on Guitar Hero. Summer of 69 and Comfortably Numb for example.

Re: Faulty Commodore Plus/4

Picked up one of these on Sunday Hope that doesn't mean from a car boot - if so, think you may be gutted :( Yep. From the boot sale. Only paid £4 for the machine, tape drive, joystick, manuals and some games so the cost doesn't bother me. I just wanted to see what the machine was like. I'll just o...

Faulty Commodore Plus/4

Hi all

Picked up one of these on Sunday but all I get on the screen are garbled characters. Has anyone had any experience with these machines and is there anything I can do to fix the problem?

Thank you

Which were the best years for the Commodore 64

I always believed that the best for games on the C64 were 1986/87 and reading the excellent C64 book by Andrew Fisher just confirmed my suspicions. Granted that the games I mention are obviously the ones I loved and not neccesarily the best games ever on the machine, they are the 2 best years of C64...

A few years ago I stumbled across a Doom remake. I had new textures, new 3D graphics, allowed you to look up and down (which finally let you see what REALLY lay at the bottom of all those long drops) and let you jump as well. The music had been revamped and the whole thing sounded and looked awesome...

I would say this. Forget all about brand names/loyalty, past performance, which one is more powerful, which one has the better graphics or is the loudest. At the end of the day all that matters is the games. Look at the types of games you love playing the most. If you're into racers and FPS then I'd...

If you're into RPG's then definitly get Skies of Arcadia - Legends. An absolutely brilliant RPG. Wonderful wonderful wonderful game.

I also second the nomination for Eternal Darkness.

There's only one reason to own an Intellivision and thats Astrosmash. It's brilliantly addictive. Yes its a limited view but its the only game I remember playing at my friend's place when we were kids. If thats not your thing then Beauty and the Beast (sort of like a Donkey Kong clone) is quite fun ...

C64 Mouse

Just bought a NEOS Mouse and Cheese. I was just wondering if this can be used in games like Defender of te Crown or Enigma Force. I have a sneeky suspician that it won't work but I can live in hope.

It might not be the ideal game for more serious gamers, but I predict Mario and Sonic at the Olympics could top it come year end. It's been number 1 in the charts for weeks on end and when sales started to dip, out came the DS version. Also bare in mind that over the Christmas period and into Janua...
