Another point to mention with tape decks (or cassette decks if you wish) is that different decks have slight differences in playback speed - a very minimal amount, but enough to cause loading problems! Might be an idea (if your sticking to tapes) to record the game on the same tape deck as the one ...

Help with Speccy loading please

More specifically, I'm converting .tap files to .wav files and then transferring them to tape. It copies fine to the tape but it just refuses to load. I've tried using both TAPE2WAV and WINTZX0 to convert the TZX files. I use the default WINXP sound recorder to transfer to tape. I used the same tpae...

I too had a great chat with her at CGE. She signed my arcade book as well. Whenever I show people all the signitures I collected that day and tell them about Doris, they think its just so cool that a little old lady was playing games. And being darn good at it too. It's my favorite retro gaming story.

Re:

Is someone the official arranger of this then? I am planning to drive down from Yorkshire and as it is such a bugger of a drive I want to make a weekend of it and have a day/night in London too (go to the Game on exhibition). Could do with knowing the date so I can book hotels etc. I don't think th...

No game in particular but Shumps where you just recycle back to the beggining are aweful. Sometimes I hadn't even realised what had happened and then all of a sudden its like - hey, haven't I done this already. Not related but the ending of War of the Worlds both movie and book is just embarrasing. ...

Just a reminder to keep this post neat the top. If you haven't voted yet for your prefered date for the meet do it soon. We'd like to get as many people as possible down there.

It looks like Saturday 3 February is the favoured date so far.

Right then. I just got off the phone with Richard (very friendly guy btw) and he is very keen to have us down for the meet. We now need to decide on a date for February. I'll set up another post with voting buttons for the available weekends. The arcade is open to the public till 6pm. After that it ...
