US court ruling regarding legalising Abandonware - sort of

Can anyone make any sense of this. On the one hand it sounds like it could benefit us, but on the other it looks like it only affects the copy protection on software. http://sciencefictionobserver.blogspot.com/2006/12/usa-legalizes-abandonware.html And more specifically... http://www.copyright.gov/1...

Such a shame indeed. I had spoken to the owner when we decided to have a get together and he sounded like a decent guy. I was under the understanding that it only needed to make like £15/day to break even but maybe I have it wrong or maybe it didn't even manage that. Either way it is disappointing ...

PSP grip question

With all the retro games/retro themed games currently coming out on the PSP, I was wondering if anyone would recommend a good grip accessory. My hand gets terribly sore after about 30mins and no matter how good Ghosts n Goblins is, theres no point in struggling through the pain. I've found one at th...

Re:

Your not alone there. I brought myself a DC thinking I could rediley empty my GS's DC games supply. I get my money sorted and go up to GS. "Exscuse me mate, but where has all the Dreamcast and Saturn games gone?" and he replies "They have all been shipped to other places as we belive that the next ...

I was really excited when I saw this game and looked forward to playing it. However I found it terribly boring so didn't stick with it for too long. I must admit that it is something I keep meaning to try again and see if I can appreciate it more now. But maybe it is just crap so I shouldn't bother.

Games made by Jay Kendall and Sam Kerbeck

Does anyone know what games these 2 made? A work collegue here says he knows them and that they programmed loads of games for the C64, but he can't remember which ones. A quick search on the net wielded no useful results.

Any ideas?

Which is the original Bruce Lee - C64

Simple one really. Which of the Bruce Lee cover packaging came first? There's the Americana release and then also the Datasoft/US Gold release. Just curious.

I had a similar quandry when deciding to get either a PSP or a GP2x. I will just describe what I have and leave you to make up your own mind. I already had a GP32 for emulation but I wanted something more powerful. I also had a DS Lite and was looking at ways to play emulation on it but I couldn't r...

Mine was Asteroids back in '79 or '80. It didn't last long but it was the start of a wonderful journey.

My friend got a speccy before I got my computer. I have very fond memories of playing The Hobbit, Eureka and Gauntlet on it. Later on I got a C64 and I fell in love with it. Games like Defender of the Crown, Cal Games, The Last Ninja, Wizball etc were absolutely brilliant. How ever, I do believe tha...

As the lone fan of Might and Magic on this forum, I'll have to keep the flag flying for the series. I'd start with Might and Magic 3 and then go on to 4 and 5. MM4 and MM5 can combine to make one huge world. Its got loads of different monsters in it, simple yet addictive gameplay and 1000's of items...

I work for a games company and although there isn't any game development on site, I can tell you that teams are huge. And I'm just talking about the people responsible for testing, marketing, media relations, distribution, finance, support etc. I obviously don't know what it was like in the old days...
