Re: Retro Gaming Beginner - NEED HELP!

AND if you should be so lucky to find a good ntcs/pal converter I would definitely recommend Chrono Trigger and the Final Fantasy games, if you like RPGs! (but these can be hard to find cheap) And Lufia II. Awesome game kinda turn based like Final Fantasy but with Zelda: Link To The Tast Type puzzl...

Re: 1 game to take with you forever

Probally something like worms 3D - it's infinatly playable to a degree as it is partically randomly generated.

Retro Gamer Release Something 2011!

Retro Gamer Release Something 2011! ...Because, you know, the world ends next year (2012)! I thought it would be nice to usher in the new year with some retro gaming goodness. A short game or game demo, story or whatever you feel up to making yourself. At the moment it's just for fun, but I might e...

Re: GBA on DS Question

As far as i'm aware, only the iplayer and DSTWO cards run GBA games and that is because they have extra hardare on the cart, Of the two, the DSTWO looks the best as it has a SNES emu as well. These are programmed emus made by the company who sells the cart and not homebrew coders so they should be f...

Re: Should I get these SNES games? I'm a retro newb

Also get UN squadren if you can. I've never played Soul Blazer. Since it didn't come out in the UK I'm not likely to try it any time soon. Might give it a look via emulation though. Soulblazer is probally my most played SNES game. I've finished it more than once on the SNES, multible times on emulat...

Re: Splatterhouse

The 3rd game was a strange one - it felt more like Final Fight than Splatterhouse in some ways. As for the 360 version, it something I'll def try out in the future when I get a 360.

Re: Retro Gaming Beginner - NEED HELP!

The SNES I have seems to be missing the video lead thing but it never had a scart and I know I have some coaxal cables (or whatever they are called ) laying around somewhere. And maybe a couple of games although I sald most on ebay a while back. emulation all the way for myself. Me too having one co...

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is just out - had the import over the last few days and it looks and plays beautifly. Also Peggle DS is good if you want something a little different...

Re: Retro Gaming Beginner - NEED HELP!

I'm more in favour of the SNES now. The one thing stopping me from choosing the SNES is that it would be nice to start from the beginning with the NES. For £60 I can get both but then there's the games.. Got more thinking to do :) Well I have a spare snes you can have - you'll need to pay the posta...

Re: Retro Gaming Beginner - NEED HELP!

Thanks for all your quick replies. Negative Creep - What do you mean by simplicity? Surely all retro consoles are simplistic when compared to modern consoles? Maybe "overly simplistic" would be better. SNES games in general will keep your intrest longer than NES games. Plus you can get a NES adapte...

Re: Any ideas how to use this dodgy-looking SNES adaptor?

Datel's action replay cart is probaly the best, it's the one I had back in the day. No idea what they go for nowadays.

Re: Retro Gaming Beginner - NEED HELP!

I'd go withe the SNES as it has some truly groundbreaking games. Also consider a SEGA saturn at some piont in the future too as that has some classic 2D games. I never dug the NES, it had Mario 3 but even then the SNES had a better version - I trully can't think of any reccomended Nes games but the ...

Re: Any ideas how to use this dodgy-looking SNES adaptor?

Wow. That is one bizzare looking device. Just when you think you've seen everything the SNES comes along and thumbs it's nose at you lol.
