Final whistle's just gone. Congratulations to Germany - 2014 winners. The best team in the tournament won.

Re: What's the earliest RPG game you remember finishing?

http://www.oldgames.sk/images/oldgames/rpg/Dungeon.Master/dm-03.gif Dungeon Master on the Atari ST I'd say was the first fully-formed RPG that took over my life until I completed it. I'd still rate it in my top three RPGs of all time. I'd played Out of the Shadows on the ZX Spectrum and Bard's Tale...

Here, here.

I'm still in shock, though.

Re: Wan*ers of the World Cup!

W*nkers of the World Cup so far: Marcello for taking a dive in the penalty area in the opening game (rather than pass the ball to a team mate for a goal). The Uruguayan nation for denying anything had happened between Suarez and Chiellini in the Italy game. That was bare-faced ignorance and corrupti...

Re: The Wonders of the World Cup

Can't believe what I'm seeing, and we're only 30 mins into this semi final. Feel for the Brazilians, though they look like they've given up already.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Yesterday I watched Kurosawa's superb The Hidden Fortress (1958) again - between the football. Can't beat a bit of Kurosawa. http://www.kurosawamovies.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=3025&g2_serialNumber=3 And tonight I followed that up with the brilliantly twisted Island of...

Re: The Wonders of the World Cup

Seems like "Blindness" is the national sport of Uruguay. Not football. Anyone with a pair of eyes and brain can see that something happened there, and to brush it off as nothing is frankly corrupt. The Uruguayan media are currently attacking the UK media for having a vendetta against Suarez, and are...

Re: Video Games Within Video Games.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja (aka Goemon) for the SNES has some great mini games in it, including Gradius/Nemesis, a TV quiz show, and a neat horse racing game, among others. Love that game :)

It's available on bbc iplayer. Still worth watching even with knowing the result. Just seems to be the Belgium v Russia game yesterday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0484mpj/2014-fifa-world-cup-alternative-commentaries-3-cbbc-commentary-belgium-v-russia http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b047w...

Re: The Wonders of the World Cup

Has anyone listened to the the CBBC commentary on the Beeb's WC cup matches? Bizarre and quite funny! Is this via the red button? Sounds like it could be fun. Will definitely check out the children's commentary on tomorrow's game between England and Costa Rica - might actually make it palatable! Ac...

Re: The Wonders of the World Cup

In my OP I said that all I wished for from England was a better performance than we gave in South Africa. I'm not even sure if we did that. Just listening to Jose Mourinho say that he thought England were unlucky. They were unlucky, that's true, but I can't help feeling that England just weren't goo...

For me: the presentation is not up to scratch in three, though the game mechanics are sound. The menus are quite poor (especially the yellow icons), and the monsters often look comical. Three is a good game, just poor presentation lets it down.

Re: The Wonders of the World Cup

Does anyone know if they're going to be using any new technology at the World Cup? I'm guessing goal line tech will be used for the first time. Dunno if it's Hawkeye of not.
