Re: CITV Old School Weekend

Really enjoyed seeing Fun House, Wizadora and Knightmare although they must be serious about the anniversary angle as both those shows were from 1993... which meant no mullet on Pat Sharp :( Nice to see some of those games as prizes on FH too :)

Re: What Blu rays have you bought this week?

Back To The Future trilogy for £8 from Amazon. My player hasn't even been set up since I moved back in with my parents in September but I couldn't pass it up at that price! That is good, am going check that out. It went up to £10 a couple of days after I bought it, think it's stayed at that price s...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

T-Mobile's endless marketing texts. Have texted STOP to two different numbers and phoned up twice to get them stopped but they still keep coming! Spam of any kind infuriates me, enough for me to leave when my contract runs out even though reception/speeds etc have been very good...

Searching for Sugar Man - missed it at the cinema but worth the wait to see it, a nice story well told :)

Re: Boggyb68's annual what did you get for Christmas thread!

I buy my Xmas presents for myself and don't usually give or receive but I did get a Raspberry Pi model B from a friend this year. Not set it up yet (need to get a KVM switch and a few other bits and bobs for it first) but really looking forward to playing with it and getting back into programming!

I've just bought a Nexus 4 so don't want to fiddle around with ROMs too much other than rooting the stock one - which I'm happy with anyway, apart from Google Talk!

Re: Appaling games you enjoy.....

I recall having a guilty pleasure for liking Street Soccer by Codemasters for the Speccy back in the day. I kinda knew it was mediocre at best but it held a certain charm for me for reasons I was never quite certain of!  Link - http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0017306 :...

Re: Appalling games you enjoy.....

I spent many hours playing Ian Botham's Test Match which came with my Speccy +2. The CPU team rarely made more than 15 runs between them, there was no skill involved at all in bowling and the crowd looked and sounded like they were being electrocuted when a wicket fell!

Re: How you do TV

If the football isn't on terrestrial TV (I've never had Sky), then I'll stream it. Very rarely watch any other TV live unless it's a particular favourite show of mine (e.g. the new Red Dwarf series) - everything else is through torrents or iPlayer...

Google Talk on Android... I HATE the way it signs you in automatically and the first you know about it is when you get messages from people wanting to chat. It's built into the OS so you can't uninstall it either!

Re: What were the best game shops around your area..

When I moved to Liverpool Chip Shop 2000 became my favourite. Lots of retro, lots of imports, it was great. I know many people complained about the prices but I used to get some good deals from the guys working there. They'd even reserve imported Final Fantasy merchandise for me whenever they got s...
