Re: Non-game stuff you bought of late.....

I'm just finishing season 3 now but I haven't enjoyed it as much as the first 2 - the sci-fi stuff doesn't quite work for me and the post-movie characters generally aren't as strong. Those 3 S4 episodes apparently bring in a ridiculous number of new characters? Watched a few minutes of those Japanes...

Re: 2003 - What were you playing?

Started the year hammering PES2 and (especially) Vice City on my new PS2, switched to the Winning Eleven games once I'd got my PS2 chipped. I was horrendously disappointed by the buggy CM4 and never bought an SI game again. Worked my way through Shenmue 2 and enjoyed a love-hate relationship with Ic...

Re: Non-game stuff you bought of late.....

I'm all-American when it comes to TF :) (Except those Euro gold box Classic versions, they're the ones I'm old enough to remember being in the shops!) Hoping to collect pre- and post-movie G1 eventually, just wanted to watch Seasons 3 and 4 (had never seen either before) and get familiar with the ch...

Re: £600 per month for 5 years!

I turned 30 last Friday and am a (potential) first-time buyer, going for my first house viewing on Saturday. It's exciting but the level of financial commitment involved is pretty scary if you think about it for any length of time! Glad I stumbled across this thread even though the Retro Gamer forum...

GTA 3/Vice City
Elite (Acorn Archimedes)
Super Mario Land 2
Sonic 1 (Master System)

A friend bought me Deadly Premonition for my birthday so I'll be getting stuck into that soon. Never been that huge on survival horror games but will go into it with an open mind...

Re: Concerts this year,

^ Nice one!

I have Caitlin Rose next Friday, Black Crowes x5 at the end of March (am a HUGE fan so doing all their UK dates), Bonnie Raitt in June and maybe Eric Johnson in April too. A bit less than these last couple of years but still a decent tally :)

Independence Day - ridiculously cheesy but enjoyable in a 'guilty pleasure' kind of way.

Re: Is wreck it Ralph a success?

I thought the storyline actually picked up when the video game references lessened after the first third or so of the film - although I loved seeing them, don't get me wrong! The Sugar Rush setting was a bit sickly (in every sense) but I thought it was a decent film nonetheless.

Re: Who plays a musical instrument ?

I've been playing keyboard/piano since I was 9 and guitar since I was 16 (am 30 now). Did grade 5 piano when I was 15 but played for my own pleasure after that, which is still largely the case now other than semi-regular weekend jams with a couple of friends :)

Re: New PC rig recommendations

I have an i3 and it's fine for what I use it for (audio recording/editing is probably the most demanding task). I've always found the stock heatsink/fan combos on the newer Intel processors to be quite fiddly to fit, it's easy to break the push pins and leave yourself with no means of securing the a...
