Re: Is the forum in decline?

Come on fella. Sounds like you’re being difficult. I don't think so. This thread is to discuss whether the forum is in decline or not, and presumably to discuss why that may or may not be. Merman said that the forums guidelines aren't to blame, and you yourself have just said that there are other p...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

You can discuss the games and how they play, why you like/dislike aspects of them. It's when the discussion turns to real-world politics and religion (or their depiction in the game) that you need to be careful on how you word your comments. I appreciate your answer as an attempt to find some middl...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Ad Astra.

I enjoyed it. It was slow in places but I wasn't bored. There is a sprinking of action but it's more like Interstellar rather than something like Prometheus. Not as good as Interstellar for me but it's probably about as good as The Martian.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Most forums have guidelines about discussing politics and religion. To blame that for this forum's decline is ridiculous. And yes, games are political. All art is political. Whether it's Leonardo creating statues (and war machines) for an Italian duke, or Damien Hirst creating his diamond skull fun...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Everyone that was banned during that incident in 2017 was banned under the rule that prohibited hate speech. This rule had been in place longer than I've been with the company. We then added a new rule banning the discussion of politics. Thing is, gaming is becoming increasingly political, with som...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Well, not only did I pre-order Ni No Kuni, but also AI: The Somnium Files. I've been aware of AI and wasn't sure about it, but I enjoyed 9-9-9 on the DS and the early reviews are promising, so I took the plunge since it may be hard to pick up later. Not a cheap month but I likely won't be buying ano...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Anybody played Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch? I'll be getting DQ XI and I'm really not short of JRPGs as it is, but it does look good and I fear it could be the sort of game that could be expensive to get hold of later, so I'm on the fence about picking this up, anybody care to push me one wa...

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting

Fair enough, I hadn't realised that was a difference, I thought it was just the AV port change that nullified 480p on some PAL Cubes. FWIW, I played Geist for a while and it didn't hold my attention, this despite quite looking forward to it. The mechanics are too contrived and limited, so it never ...

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting

I've started to build a modest NTSC collection, managed to recently get Smash Bros Melee for a sensible price. What I'm really after now is Prince Of Persia Sands of Time, but it seems to be the only NTSC POP game nobody in the UK is selling/trading. Fav games were F-ZERO GX , PN03, viewtiful joe, ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Anyone going to buy the SNES controller? Think I will. I have the nes 8bitdo but it's a bit hit and miss, and the R button is broke since I dropped it. Gonna try and fix it, and it still works ok for the nes online. At first I thought i would, but I'm now leaning against it. It's £34 including post...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Dante is a good shout actually, I could see him added with the DMC games getting ports. I considered Scorpion, with Sub Zero as a shadow character, but thought maybe Mortal Kombat just too violent, without the goryy fatalities a MK character would seem a bit too watered down. What about the Hollow K...
