Nintendo - DLC, Mobile & Microtransactions

Apparently the microtransactions in Mario Kart Tour are really bad, and the game itself isn't even that good either. On the one hand it's disappointing to see Nintendo go down this route, and use some of the more cynical and greedy tactics to generate more revenue than the game probably deserves. Ho...

Having someone else around to talk through the puzzles is always good though.
Yeah we definitely got further together than we would have separately.

Zelda: Link's Awakening and Transistor, both for the Nintendo Switch. Transistor was only £3 in the digital sale.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Quite a few decent e-shop deals at the mo, I'm eyeing up Transistor for £3 myself.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Theres really not that much to talk about these days in politics anyway, its all gone eerily quiet. I was actually planning a trip to Hong Kong round about now but like the procrastinator I am I didn't get around to it. Glad I didn't now. This is the state the world gets itself into when the...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

The Switch is getting two Mario Kart themed racing wheels in November, made by Hori, a standard and a deluxe model. So far only announced for Japan.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

I addressed The Witcher specifically, in order to set the record straight, as some people have been attributing views to the developers that they don't actually hold. More generally, that the solitary example offered has little basis in fact rather undermines the argument it's supposed to back up. ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Interesting, I had heard the sequel was generally regarded as being inferior and a disappointment. I'll post my view on the game, sometime, whenever I get around to it, next year probably.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

I can see why they shut all that stuff down, i did enjoy lots of the controversial stuff i must admit but at times the Off topic arguments was bigger than any retro chat here. Nowadays Facebook is more popular for discussions than forums so if i want to argue about Brexit/Labour/Tories/Religion the...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Come on fella. Sounds like you’re being difficult. I don't think so. This thread is to discuss whether the forum is in decline or not, and presumably to discuss why that may or may not be. Merman said that the forums guidelines aren't to blame, and you yourself have just said that there are other p...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

You can discuss the games and how they play, why you like/dislike aspects of them. It's when the discussion turns to real-world politics and religion (or their depiction in the game) that you need to be careful on how you word your comments. I appreciate your answer as an attempt to find some middl...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Ad Astra.

I enjoyed it. It was slow in places but I wasn't bored. There is a sprinking of action but it's more like Interstellar rather than something like Prometheus. Not as good as Interstellar for me but it's probably about as good as The Martian.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Most forums have guidelines about discussing politics and religion. To blame that for this forum's decline is ridiculous. And yes, games are political. All art is political. Whether it's Leonardo creating statues (and war machines) for an Italian duke, or Damien Hirst creating his diamond skull fun...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Everyone that was banned during that incident in 2017 was banned under the rule that prohibited hate speech. This rule had been in place longer than I've been with the company. We then added a new rule banning the discussion of politics. Thing is, gaming is becoming increasingly political, with som...
