Re: Best Nintendo Series

The castlevania games were too punishing on NES to be noteworthy, although the SNES and later games ruled. N64 notwithstanding.

My quick 5:

5: Final Fantasy
4: Metroid
3: Zelda
2: Mario
1: Tetris

Word.

Re: Pokémon Black & White

Pokemon is fail. It's also the only game series I know - Bar Sonic - that can effectively sell you the same game over and over again without anyone getting any the wiser.
Nintendo should win a medal.

Re: Pacman Fever (drivin' me crazy)

Pacman Championship Edition DX is one of the greatest games of all time, and is so far beyond Pacman Championship Edition as to not even be in it's shadow. You owe it to yourself to buy it and play it until your eyes literally bleed from overwork. Videogames aren't drugs anyway, since you don't have...

Re: Blade Runner Sequel in Development?

The Blade Runner series of books are pretty decent, so as long as they don't "Go all Hollywood" on them they'll be fine in my eyes. Sadly it'll probably become another pointless CGI fest so it can justify its inevitable 3D Cinema release. Most people only rave incessantly about the original Blade Ru...

Re: Effing CD DRM

Also check your PC for the hidden Rootkit that the audio discs installed when you tried to rip them. Anything published by Sony basically. List of audio CDs with "Extended Copy Protection" List of Audio CDs with "MediaMax CD-3" Basically any of these secretly install a program onto your PC that stop...

Re: Game Room Poll

Sell the emulators and sell the roms. I'll buy them. Just don't dress them up in pointless user-unfriendly UI that actually detracts from the experience.

Game Room was fail. Time to bury it (with a stake in its heart for fear of resurrection) and move on.

Re: Charlie sheen - 2 and a half men in one

I agree with Freestyler! I am sure we are in the minority. But that's okay. Do people actually stillllllll this is some weird publicity stunt ? Just heard the police took two of his kids away from him. I mean come on, its not exactly 'ha ha the jokes on you...' is it ? Can understand people feeling...

Re: Abandonware feature.

So what you really want is an article on Public Domain/Free games? As long as they were previously commercial games that have entered the public domain then yes, I'd be happy to "settle" with that as a feature. I wouldn't want it to encompass homebrew or other user generated content. So no total co...

Re: Abandonware feature.

I mean in the strictest sense of the term, since more and more companies are allowing their games to enter the public domain. Also when a company goes bust holding copyright while it's not legal as such to post their products online, since there's no legal copyright holder there's nobody to challeng...

Would you say it's a bit like Citizen Kabuto on PC/PS2? That seems to be the impression I'm getting?

Re: Mark Thomas vs McDonalds

I love Mark Thomas. Non-violent direct action for the win. I loved the one where he goes to the Arms manufacturers exhibition and poses as an arms dealer. Funny in itself until you see him interview Third World leaders and get them to admit ON CAMERA that they willingly kill their own citizens to st...

Hating SoR2 is like hating the Megadrive, since it's the best game on the console by far.

I don't like the xbox live version of Rainbow Islands. It's a censored disgrace.
I've never known a version ruined so much by such terrible controls.

Re: What games have you given up on recently?

Brutal Legend. I had no idea it was a squad based RTS, a genre I don't much like. It was quite fun while I was hacking away on my own, but its all just got too fiddly for a joypad - RTS needs a mouse. Is it? :? I had no idea it was an RTS as I had this on my buy list. I won't if it's as you say. Al...
